Well, I was just thinking that perhaps the price for a stack of Cactus in [Org] /warp shop should be sold for $32 just like pumpkins are. My reasons are: 1) Cactus farms are more expensive to set up ($2000 for sand), so they should be at least as profitable as pumpkin farms 2) It would encourage more people to build cactus farms instead of/as well as pumpkin farms and since they don't use redstone, it could cut down on the increasing lag problem Just a thought, but I don't really see why cacti are "worth" less than pumpkins. Thanks for your consideration and please leave any feedback below!
I'd support this. Though the counter argument is that it's a lot easier to make a cactus farm than a pumpkin farm.
Maybe switch around the price with pumpkins? It'd drain a good amount of the large inflation of money as building one would cost a lot more money and wouldn't be as fast as cactus grows on a sand every 2-4 minutes.
Switching the price with pumpkins would just flood the economy with pistons/redstone as people switch to cactus farms not really a good idea as far as those items go.
I like this idea, doesn't need to be a lot of money difference. Pumpkin:30$ Cactus:32$ Idk just some numbers I thought of.
That sounds pretty reasonable. Perhaps cactus should be even slightly more considering there's no sand trade. Every sand has to be purchased for full price.
The issue with time to actually grow either isn't much a factor tbh. It is more the value of time spent actually selling, In the long run it would just require larger farms with slower production. At first it would prob increase lag issues as people with large pump farms would start to build cactus and have both running at same time. Then at critical times people would begin to dismantle pump farms to attempt to sell them off and flood market with pistons/redstone. I will adjust personally no matter the direction it goes, but think it's a complex decision to make drastic economy changes.
Honestly, I don't see many dramatic changes if the price of cacti goes up to 25 or 30. It's still expensive to make and slow to collect. It shouldn't have any lag issues because there is no redstone used with it, it just auto harvests itself. Perhaps enormous farms would be laggy because of entities but that already happens and would be negligible compared to the ridiculous pumpkin farms already used with redstone
