Nice Guide, but if your names are Similar with the same start e.g ShadowCreeper02 & ShadowFire23, if ShadowFire set his /nick to 'Shadow' could ShadowCreeper set his nick to something like 'Shadow_' or 'ShadowC'? Like to know, thanks.
This is a grey area. If shadow is part of your ign then you can have it. It only becomes abuse if you impersonate the other player to get them in trouble. If someone uses the nick shadow but their ign are Lycel, then you have more of a right to that nickname. But the concept confuses me. So if someone has the same nick, add something to make it different to save tension.
I'm confused with things now, cypriotmerks has been banned and demotes, basically wiped away from skyblock, I was kicked for nick abuse when it's now cypriotmerkz. Please explain
Guessing its because cyps owns both his accounts again and unbanned himself. And i guess impersonating staff with a nick is not exactly... permitted.
As krissy said it's very much a grey area. It would largely depend on who first had the nick shadow, and what donor level they were. If both were orange/blue donors then I'd say that who came first would have the right to the nick more. If they were different level donors (Eg 1 was donor50 and the other was donor100) then I feel that the difference is more obvious and it's even possible that 2 nicknames could co-exist on the server
Given the number of times you've broken the rules and appealed, I'm certain that you know these rules very well, and thus, applying a higher level of punishment serves as a deterrent where regular punishments have failed.
So does this mean /nick abusing me is double nick abuse? You're taking a rank (Mod) And you're taking my name as well.
The base of my username is a bit popular, there happens to be one youtuber called CoolCreeper. I sometimes like to shorten my name to lose the numbers so its shorter and less annoying to read. Would it be nick abusing if I shortened my name from CoolCreeper20202 to CoolCreeper?
