lol, since someone mentioned I should suggest this.

Suggesting adding a Guide Book into the starter chest. So new players aren't discouraged to play, not knowing the full aspect of Skyblock might be the biggest draw back about this game.
This book should contain all warp commands, locations such as animal warp for food etc.
Also it should probably come with a rule book as well just so people are on the safe side.
Limits of island expansion and height limits, suggest using blocks as measurements since not everyones very good at math myself included lol.

PS: Make the books bound like the buckets, can't be tossed only deposited into chests.

No one wants to live off apples while they grow their trees, just sayin

Or maybe just have a sign at spawn saying to go to /warp FAQ?

/warp FAQ contains everything you have mentioned here and is a great, detailed "guide" for new players.

I actually support this. I think it's a great idea for a couple of reasons. With it being a physical thing, I think the newer players will be able to grasp it easier, pun intended. =p As Fintan said, yes there is a /warp FAQ but some newer players aren't familiar with this. Which is why the book is a good idea. Also, instead of having to /warp everywhere for FAQ's and Illegal to see them, it'd be right there. Players would literally have no excuse for not knowing the basic rules and such. I feel it would help the server as a whole.

the FAQ warp is actually only known to people who have been playing for about a week, even then the broadcasts aren't much help, since they go flying by. I've sat there trying to catch up a few times only to miss more than half the messages, You either focus on certain people or miss out on all the talk. So a book is actually the best solution for the server. You can agree to disagree but, reading the rules and getting informative knowledge about the inner workings of skyblock would greatly help the player base. Without all the bias bashing about what's illegal what you're doing and what commands this n that.

Well, the commands are also in spawn.. but I know when I first joined Skyblock, seeing all of the chat and signs and such everywhere, it was overwhelming for myself. I can't speak for others, but. I know Elmo probably got tired of explaining everything to me over and over because I wasn't understanding things in the beginning. I think the book would have helped me tons.

There used to be a guide sold at spawn, sold for one cobble, one stick etc.
There was also a command /rules, I remember it, I'm pretty sure only Cyp and Crew can use it now.

But yeah, I support this idea c:

Yea I've tried a few of the commands listed from the walls and a whole bunch of them are broken so I didn't even bother trying the others, pretty sure I'm not the only one who'll do that and just assume the game's just survival on a little island with no benefits. Either way, an object in your inventory won't go untouched, even junk is moved into chests because people are packrats thinking they'll need it later on, which they most likely will :p

    Support.
Keeping the newbies informed would probably also make the jobs of mods easier because questions can be answered there and they would be informed of the rules aswell :p

Phazekiller, I'm pretty sure you made this because you've been living of apples and watermelons without knowing that there's a /warp animal. xD

Pretty sure I was the one who told you that there was a way to get meat either.

    Any who, gg. ;)

This has been suggested so many times and pretty much everyone supports it but it gets buried. It needs to happen. You either join the server new with a book, or it is a starter item, or /rules would help. Just little things to help.

There any many reasons why I DONT support this...

The books will need to be constantly taken away from players and chests to be updated
What happens if someone dies with or loses the book?
Too much overall work needed for it

Well, maybe it can be added to /warp grass. 1 cobblestone = 1 book. :t

Hmm, why take them from players and such? I'd imagine by the time things need to be updated, the players will have learned the ins and outs and won't need it anymore. And hopefully they don't die before reading it.. xD. I think the first thing people do is check the chest when they start an island, lol.

Well. We tried. :c I still stand by it being a good idea, though.
