It has come to my attention that over the past 8 months I have noticed that the economy really needs to be fixed! I believe the economy should be worked on soon before its too late. Pumpkin and cactus farms are good but there needs to be a limit or something even removing them for a brief time period. I am writing this because one person payed 2 million skybucks for two peoples upgrade to overlord and highroller and he has already made half of it back in a day. Another person payed around 1.5 million skybucks to upgrade to overlord and he made the money back in 2 days, This is starting to create many issues for newer players and even experienced players. All ive seen to try and help the economy was that shop prices increased and added item that once were rare, it makes it very hard for newer players to get stuff if they cant afford it. I've noticed that most of the richer player control the economy, about a year ago i remember the server use to be very popular and it was full 24/7 and nearly impossible to join at the right time to get on. Many players have quit from the economy going bad they said, yes i understand people get bored of it and take breaks but the server went from 250 people a day to 20-40 max. If we leave the economy like it is now it will get to the point where a full rest will be needed and if it happens even more people will leave, so please lets try to get this major issue resolved.I have recently seen a suggestion of an auto sell thing to be added, i dont think that such a good idea at the moment because if people can earn a million in 2-4 days imagine what they can earn with auto selling added.
Nope, go into the files and turn the blocks you can't push with pistons not just obsidian and bedrock, but also pumpkins
Inflation..... Things are pretty bad now, considering I left for a month or so and come back. Don't get me wrong, the diamond market is good right now, like the old days. Spawners are a little expensive, but that's alright. On the other hand, there are many players that I would like to call 'investors' who have invested time and money for return in the long run, which has arrived. Large farms are a popular thing now, this is something we just have to deal with. I do not believe a reset is necessary, as more players would leave the server as well. I would like to say, however, the economy is not too great right now, but I lack ideas for solutions. This is just my opinion on the matter. ~Chub
The reason people left was because they couldn't readd the essentials of org back in the beginning, ex. ChestShops because it had a dupe. The economy isn't always gonna be top notch (see what I did there). Yes there's been a good amount of inflation lately but that's part of an economy, there's been deflation as well of course. There's the rich and then the not so rich people, but that's just how things work. My suggestions would be lowering the pumpkin price like we did last time. Or just add more stuff into the adminshop like more blocks for decorations of people's island. There's still that second floor that hasn't been used yet
But due to inflation new players just join then leave because its hard to start out no a days, everything is being hoarded prices went up dramatically as well. for instance a spawner was always 20k but now it jumped to 40k i think they could at least changed the selling pumpkins melons and cactus to lower amount so its harder to get money
I began playing .org in 2013 I believe. I earned around 10k from harvesting pumpkins and melons. I sold these at the admin shop. When I came back to .org, late 2014, I found out that my 10k from all that hard work was down the drain. It took me about 10 hours to earn that 10k, but now, 10k can be earned within minutes. Players are no longer spending time on their island. All their time is invested into clicking signs, that is not how Skyblock should be played in my opinion.
Economy inflates and deflates, something just needs to be added as a SkyBucks sink, maybe allow more decoration items being added, when .ORG has updated to 1.8 I'll talk to Cyp about adding the lanterns in the shop for a high costing amount, to decrease the amount of money floating around.
Remo monopolyed the whole market of spawners using is 40 plus spawners on hand He sells for 40k, so yea that's what happened.
People need incentives to spend to get rid of excess money. Lower the prices of the crops like pumpkins, bring in better decoration blocks... encourage spending
Let's think about newcomers, who's trying to get to the market. Lowering prices in admin shop you just make them leave. If you want to reanimate ORG's economy, you have to invent something to stimulate rich people to invest their money into new players.
I would have to agree that some aspects of the economy are messed up, but I'm in favor of keeping things such as pumpkin farms the way they are (for now, at least). Why? Yes, they are a huge hurdle to get over for new players to get money, but that just makes sense. If getting "rich" was easy, everyone would be rich (ironically making everyone poor due to inflation). For proof that it's not too ridiculous, take me as an example. For quite some time, I was relatively broke on .org. Until only around 3 months ago or so, I had less than 20k to my name (from after 4+ months of sporadic activity). Then I discovered how certain people sold pumpkins to players which could be resold to the shop, effectively splitting the profit between the two. This is a great way for new players who can't afford their own farm to earn up some money, while "paying" for the service that those with pumpkin farms provide. Once some money has been saved, if dedicated enough, the player can begin to create his/her own farm and become "rich" themselves. This is exactly what I did. I started buying other people's pumpkins and selling them, and slowly using the profits to build my own farm. A farm is an investment. Those who want to become rich must invest time and skybucks into doing so, and by having pumpkin farms pay off later results in players who are more involved in the long run as their investment does not pay off immediately. Alternatively, we could just have tons of players who find it easy, but leave shortly after of boredom. After approximately 3 months, I can now say that I have a respectable pumpkin farm (around 800+ pistons) and I currently have 340k in my balance. Might I add, I did nearly all of this while being a "greenie" up until around a week or so ago. Should I continue to work my way up, I could likely reach 1 million by the end of the next month and more from there on. Thus I think it is quite reasonable to have pumpkin farms work just how they do now. HOWEVER, what I don't like is how certain items (like spawners) can be "monopolized" as the only real alternative is to spend actual currency to obtain them (call it pay-to-win if by having lots of money is considered "winning"). Yes, you can get it through voting, but they number of people I have seen actually obtain them this way (on .org) is next to none making it effectively not a viable option when others who are more well-off in real life can simply click a button and get more of them at will. And that's all I have to say about that.
I see no real problem with current economy, some new shop items would be nice. Making it more difficult to make $ would do nothing to improve the economy its already a task to do. I started less than 3 months ago and have had very little trouble entering into the economy and competing.
