We seem to have a bunch of what seem to be spam/advertising bots on our site now... All of them do NOTHING, literally NOTHING, except for advertising a product in a long paragraph. All of them also have incomprehensible/weird names. All of them also seemed to have joined recently. It's, quite frankly, getting kinda annoying, and I'd prefer this forums free of spam, plz. Could the mods do something about this?

People i believe to be spambots (sorry if you aren't actually a spambot, if you aren't, please stop advertising):
    ishq malik
    vpripe khan
    War ried
    fero james
    lincol olbed

We typically handle them quite fast (which I just spotted two that shall soon be snipped), but yes, thats something that I have been wanting to address. Something that you guys can to do to help us snipe those suckers is hitting the report button! Helps us snipe those spammy bots even faster

Edit: Thank you for listing those~ It looks like they have all been taken care of already :3

Just report them using the report button and mods will remove them. The forums will never be 100% spam bot free at this time.

It's been awhile since I've made my forums account. Is there a Captcha? That might help to alleviate it.

Btw, spam bots are the worst advertisers ever.

The Spam bots are controlled by humans who are able to solve captcha and activate emails to join or that is one of the possible theories as we have email activation requirements and captcha

Make 'em do a math problem. They can't write in complete sentences. I doubt they could solve 9+10. :t

    Lmao.
But there is one captcha thing that I saw on another site.
It made you drag specific items such as a show, book or pen into the bag. (You have to drag about 3 items or so.)
    Would this work?

Its all done by the bots, they register in only a matter of seconds and the email thing can be done as well, they seem to have gotten pass it.

Adding where you can't register if you made it in 10 seconds or 3+ minutes that could prevent some as well. Unless they add a delay to the bots which of course would bypass it again. Or adding again where posting links/pictures requires it to be approved by a moderator.

Actually we can, addition is the easiest form of capatcha to solve. As we're like a calculator, we can solve any math problem. We can also search for keywords (which is how I work) we're limited to what we can search for, which is solved by the programmer. Plus these spambots are basic, very basic.

Please use the report function on their threads and the moderators will deal with them.

Funny thing is that is one of the questions when you register. My friend put 21 for the answer and it worked ._.
