Hey, I'm not sure if this has already been suggested but I haven't seen any the same so why not give it a try?

So my suggestion is to higher the starting bid in auctions.

At the moment the highest you can start a bid at is only $10k

Now, why make it higher? If someone is selling a rare item, I doubt they want the starting bid to be so low, and if it only sells for a really low cost, they would be really frustrated.

Now I know that you can sell it on the forums, but not everyone has a forums account and it would be much easier to sell it in-game in an auction.

I can't think of any cons of raising the starting bid...

So, tell me what you all think!

 

I think it's 10k so you can't trick someone into paying £100000 because they think it says £1000.00 but idk xD

I agree with Dan, people might think it's like 10k when it's maybe 100k. No support. It's fine for now, also rares aren't exchanged by auction very often.

If someone agrees with someone to trade x item with a player and they do it over auction, another player could bid. As much as the seller probably wouldn't mind because they're getting more $$$ for their item, the player who intended to buy it would be really frustrated as they've made a deal and whatnot. Just use /pay and chest trade.

 

well that is one situation. and it is auction, anyone could bid........ as always you could do it the old-fashioned way doing /pay but if you are trading through auction, as i said anyone could still buy it from them.

 

That's the thing. If it's an auction anyone could get it when you want one specific person getting it.

 

If they thought it was 10k but it was actually 100k, they would bid and it would be too low, so they would then know it was 100k not 10k.

The point of an auction is to get the most money possible, so I doubt this would be an issue.

Thanks for your support! I don't think time extensions would be a good idea because people could just auction something worthless like a stick for like 2/3 minutes just to annoy everyone. I think 1 minute is fine.

Support. Most people don't want to start off rare items at 10,000 incase people don't bid a lot at first.
