So, let's get this over with. If you don't know what this is, I'd highly recommend googling it..

Basically, it's this picture that blew up on social media yesterday where some people see the dress as white and gold, but others see it as black and blue.

What do you see? Mention below.

After pondering this and doing my research however, I believe I've found a reasonable answer. Don't take my word for it, but my theory is that is depends on the light in the background and how sensitive your eyes are to light in the current moment. Take this picture, for example:

This kind of proves my point. No matter what, the picture on the left should be white and gold, and the picture on the right should be black and blue...if it's not I don't know what to tell you

As you can see, the picture on the left has a brighter light in the background, while the right picture's background light isn't as bright.

The brighter light makes you see white and gold, and the darker light makes you see black and blue.

That's my two cents on it at least Let me know what you think!

I've seen this - my sister showed me. It's clearly black and blue :L

 

I am so judging my sanity as it was white and gold and then I scrolled down and back up and it was blue again.

It has to do with the brightness of the screen which you are viewing the picture and the way that the Eye interprets light as color.

 

Someone at school made up some crap about it being how intelligent you are, and a ton of people got really sad they weren't "intelligent enough to see the white and gold." >~>

Is it wrong that i cant seem to see black/blue or gold/white no matter what i do? That no matter how i adjust the brightness, tilt the screen, all i see is blue and brown?

I've seen a bunch of stupid interpretations like that, things like the mood you're in, if you're right or left brained, blah blah blah. I hate it when people make up stuff like that

idk the eye doctor told me lighter eyes are more sensitive and the darker the eyes the less; this goes for dialating eyes but maybe this has to do with it too...
