Myself, being a pvper, I don't really know the objective of skyblock/why its fun, as I find anything that doesn't involve fighting fun ( people have told me that's bad lol). Can anyone help me out here? Because it seems like all the rage here :p. Aside from having a fire block once, I don't really know whats valuable/why it is.

    Depends on the server.

.net: You want to make an island and gain resources that others want so you can trade for more valuable things(Iron, Dia, etc.) and then from there make dia blocks, beacons, etc. really .net is just about having the highest scale of the most valuable item.

org: This is more about just getting resources and selling them so you can improve your island/become the richest, no real goal to this other than to make money.

Hope this helped a bit, nice to see you here btw Dj, if you have any questions just PM me.

Well skyblock is well you start on an island.

You start with few items like Some ice/lava bucket.
    String/cactus/seeds for farming.

Then as you get better and better rares you buy/trade for better rares.

Pretty much you can build anything on your island (okay maybe not some things).

And you just have fun and try to get rares, build stuff, win contests, do other types of things. :)

It's more about the community in my opinion. Everything's pretty laid back, and it's honestly just a fun place to chill and build with friends, with a bit of a challenge.

Why are you so eager to lock this? It's not like it needs to be archived or anything. People got really annoyed last time we tried to archive all the old discussion threads... *cough* Keeper *cough*

Pfft, you think fighting is intense?

In skyblock, you start off on a hunk of dirt floating in the sky, with a pit of death below you. You're given the most basic of items, and you have to not only survive, but thrive! You have to take this floating hunk of dirt and turn it into your home. I mean... if you're satisfied with living on a tiny mound of dirt I guess it's not all that exciting... but if you want to build yourself a SKY PALACE or your own floating nation or hell, if you're on org, you can turn your island into the largest mall around if you want.

The sky is the limit, quite literally. There's a build limit... in the sky. In fact most of what you have when you start is sky.

So it's you, versus nature, the void and hunger. And as you expand your island to create your palace or mall or whatever, mobs may start to spawn! (at least on org), and so now you've got creepers and skeletons and zombies to contend with, while still living on a floating chunk of land over a death pit!

So yeah, it can be kind of intense. ;)

I also really enjoy repetitive tasks, so I love collecting wood and cobble and building out my island. If you're not into that there's always buying&selling or trading, becoming a tycoon, with all kinds of wealth. And as mentioned, the community really can't be beat. I mean, I see very few downsides. Yeah... you don't get to smack people with a sword, but if you really need to hit stuff with swords, there are always mobs. :D

;-; I was trying to help! I didn't realize the archive ate people's post counts. How was I supposed to know that? XD
