Not trying to be rude in anyway, when cyp promoted, you were bugging him to promote you, is that the reason why you made this thread? Younger people than yourself got promoted?

First of all.. This is the internet. How the hell do you expect to know someone actual age in the first place?

Fun fact guys- I'm 18. Is there a single way that you could prove me wrong? No. You have no proof whatsoever. People can easily lie and go undetected unless of course, you knew the person IRL. The age on someone's profile means nothing. You have no proof of their actual age. IRL pics may help a bit, but you could easily be wrong. I'm 13, people have mistaken me for a 17 year old before. You never know. It's all a matter of trust.

Anyways, no, I don't support this idea, the age limit. I feel as if it's unnecessary. And it's kinda naturally in place. Do you really think a 5 year old could be a mod? Know what they're doing, write a good application, gain experience in the forums? Odds are, no. What about and 8 year old? Not very likely, but possible. That's why I say it's naturally in place, no official rule needs to be set. If they are able to demonstrate enough maturity, be active, gain the majority of the community's trust, and produce a well written application, I don't see why they can't be mod, regardless of the age. Altho the standards for mods should be raised as Mind suggested below, an age limit is not needed.

No support what so ever, like Dewmellon said they're many great mods on [.Net] & [.Org] The age of a person doesn't determine how a mod is gonna act. They're plenty of older players who would not be suitable for mod. If you have a problem you can report amod or forever hold your tongue.

There are pros and cons with setting an age limit.
Mature mods are often mature an grounded, and take the responsibility of mod a little more seriously.
But the let down is often time and the older mods tend to go inactive because of life events.
But then again the maturity of some of the younger mods equals the older ones and have the same dedication and know their responsibilities and do what they do well.
Mods should be judged on what they can provide and if they can actually do good for the server, I think an age limit will only stop some of those good people getting selected. I know there are people out their under the age of 17 that would be good for the server as well as people over that age.
Sorry, I get where you are coming from, but an age limit isnt the way to go.

Demon is 11 I think and she is easily one of the best/most mature Moderators.
    Same went for Salamander.

Sorry, but just because you're young doesn't mean you don't have what it takes to moderate the forums or the servers. I have seen no mods abusing their power and that's because they know better.

Im gonna give partial support... While I think that some mods are immature, putting the age bracket that high lowers the amount of capable people that could help the server. I agree 100% that most mods I trust are older in age, but frankly I think 17 is to high maybe like 15 or 14 would be my recommendation.
PS: don't hate on me please :L:t

+ I think age doesnt matter. Because most 17 year olds wont like to deal with 9 year olds that keep spaming them

Be lenient, be listening, be loved.

3 things I stuck by when moderating. It's a shame most mods only care for the third rule.

I've only seen one bad Mod on this server who is under 17. Not gonna name who it is, but all the other Mods I see are great. One of the most mature Mods on the staff team would probably be Slifkin and he is only 13 years old. No support.

    No support Sorry~
I'm over 17 and I have to admit some of the people younger than me have a lot more talent than I do.
Modding doesn't have to do with age, it has to do with skill.
    Any age can have skill.
I'm probably one of the oldest mods (>->; yikes.) and all the other mods have a lot more experience than I do
    they really out do me.
So... Age is just a number, why should they be held back for it if they have the skill to be one?

Age has nothing to do with this, yes there have to be some standards for becoming a Moderator but I don't feel as if an age requirement will actually do anything, even an ex-Administrator here was over 17 and he abused like crazy, just learned on Cyp to do all the work and caused conflicts in the community. The reason all these Mods are being promoted and abusing is because Cyp pays no actual attention to the acts of players he promotes, he looks at the act they put on and fails to see through it like half the community getting punished for criticizing them. If somebody were to be put in charge of getting Moderator suggestions for Cyp to promote(Most likely an S-Mod) and make them a staff manager then we'd get somewhere as they'd be a lot more active on the server and would know more about the player's background than somebody too busy to get on the server for weeks at a time. I'm in no way blaming Cyp for not being able to get on as it isn't his fault, he has too much work, probably so much that anybody else trying to fill his position would drive themselves insane in a week, all I'm saying is that there should be a bit more insight into a player than an application/supports as most promoted Mods are well known in the community and have many, many friends on it that happily support them with no reason. Just my opinion of course so I don't want hate.
