Hello, yes I know this thread has been made before but this needs to happen. Kerahna was nice enough to make books with more specific rules and other important information, she wanted me to distribute them to skyblockers in need. I read the book and it's very detailed and is a necessity for new comers as it will make they're stay more easier.

Why is it needed?
I think it's need because then every newcomer has the book on hand when they join and its a closer step to them not getting banned if they haven't read the rules! The book also shows basic commands like how to start a new island to how to send messages to players. It also shows other commands players can use.

What does the book have to offer?
It offers all the commands players are allowed to use like the warps,island commands, and others. It also offers the rules in depth and answers many questions.

The book answers the following questions,
"Where do I get grass?"
"Do mobs spawn on islands?"
"How do I protect my items?"
"How do I get food and other resources?"
"What about other warps?"
"How do I get iron and diamonds?"
"Where do god items come from?"
"How do I get animals on my island?"
"What happens if I get banned?"
"How do I find a moderator"
"How do I become a donor?"
"What if I lost my only lava/ice/sapling...?"

I do Indeed thank Kerahna for making this book as it is really useful but I also think it should spawn on new islands. You could also put it on the villager at /spawn so he can sell it for a stick.

Pretty sure the first one is easy to do and the second one is just a matter of getting Cyp to put the big rules on signs at spawn

You want to try and fit the comprehensive, all inclusive rules on signs? No. We used to have the basic outlines of the rules, but kids just always claimed to not have read the rules or that they were too vague.


My response to this whole thread is essentially right there. I'm assuming we cannot add a written book to the chest for the same reason we can't make it a kit, as it requires an outside plugin because neither kits nor the skyblock plugin (assumption) remember the data of what was written IN the book.

I still like the idea, but it's been suggested before and it's almost always just put to the side and forgotten about.

 

Then there should be a spot in the game where you need to go to pickup the book from a villager before you can create a skyblock?
