    Hey everyone,

Being a mod on a server I play on, I realise how difficult it is for all the skyblock mods to moderate, so I make this thread.

Thank-you to all the mods (of all types) for just being there, dealing with all the reports, banning, help, questions, unbanning, fixing, and just the general s*** we users throw at you all day long.

Any mod who replies, thank-you for reading, and any non-mods who comment, say why you are thankful for the great mods we have doing great jobs.

No negative critisism here please, this is a strictly positive thread. If you disagree with anything here, make another thread and rant there.

Specifically because you said not to say any negative criticism, I feel I should post some.

I dont thing mods prioritize well, if at all. I hear conplaints all the time of someone saying they were being griefed, and a mod will say something like "one sec, destroyig a bridge." Thats not a good excuse. You can screenie the coords of the bridge and come back later. Not only that, but I also hear complaints about the same situation in which the mod never ended up helping the player and when the player made a thread about it, all the mods would sing the same song. "Mods are constantly swamped, being the only mod online is tiring. What if we want to take a small break?" Being swamped means nothing. To take a break, go play some other server.Mods complain about it all the time, you knew what you were signing up for. The only people allowed to use that excuse are the original mods, and even then, its been 2 years, they would know how to handle it by now.

Though. Zambi iz a gud mud. Grace iz a gud mud. I know im definately not leaving anyone out because its easy to remember the people you like when you hate almost everyone.

I agree with you to some point. Bridges can lead to future griefs so it is an excuse. Sometimes mods to forget to help people when they say they will, but they are only human, dont judge people for things you cannot say you havent done in the past, or something similar.

Far be it for me to judge the situation, but it's entirely possible for Mods to be busy doing something and wanting not to leave a job incomplete. I know that sometimes when dealing with an issue, and someone says that they are being griefed, it actually means that they've been griefed (past tense) and the case becomes less urgently suddenly. You may think, breaking a bridge that's gotta wait for later as it's a low priority job. Imagine coming on and being swamped by requests. If we put off the low priority jobs constantly then they never get done. It's been so tempting from time to time to say "screw it let another mod deal with this boring task", but if everyone thinks like this, no bridges get broken.

There's alot more the goes on behind the scenes than you imagine. I once thought along your lines. Then I put my money where my mouth was and applied for mod. Some of the practices I condone, others I don't. But I can assure you that mods dedicate their time and effort to the server far beyond what you'd expect of them normally.

Grace, Krissy, Zambi. The only acceptional mods around. Grace is always kind and fun, but she always moderates well. She knows when something is serious and when something is not. Krissy is level-headed(at least in game) and she seems like an OK mod. Zambi is like Grace. He knows when something should have consequences and when it shouldnt. He always does his job right.

Blaq seems protective of some of the players around here. Other than his strong bias against me and a couple other minor things, its evident that he cares for the server.

Want me to do a serious critique of the rest of the staff team?

Im going to do it anyways. My question was rhetorical. Lol. Ill make my own thread instead of cloging this one with my unwanted "insults"

And yeah, at one point, I actually did want to be a mod. I thought it would be cool to help the server and community that I care for so much. Then everything changed when the firenation attacked and Artie, Muffin, D-Ninj, Ezio/Troy, and a bunch of the other amazing ex-staff team left. I've been around a while. Not as long as some, but enough to see the drastic change in the players, the staff, and the servers themselves. Once the newer generation of mods surfaced, and I had a chance to test their limits, I realized I didnt want to be part of a group of people like them. Most tend to just generally abuse me disrespect me, or as you yourself did, put me down as if I dont mean anything.

Now you tell me. (not rhetorical) Would you ever want to be a part of a staff team that has basically hated you from day 1 for expressing your opinion?

I never said you, in particular, hated me. I also probably shouldnt have used the word hate. More of a dislike-strong dislike. But anyways, Im always gonna say whatever I want. The internet is a great place to express opinions, not the crazy hurtful ones, but ones that may be considered rude or dumb. I can and will always say what I want to say, no matter what.

PS: I cant decide if my mod critique should go in discussion or off topic.

    Exceptional*

I disagree about your comment about me being biased. I challenge you to show how I have treated you differently from how I would treat any player of your standing.

In which case, I urge you not to make such baseless claims or comments about anyone. Not only is it quite rude and may be seen as insulting, but in the real world may be classed as defamation.

Not baseless, they are based on your actions towards me over your time as a moderator. My appeal having to appeal for forums. Your multiple forums bans of my for no real reason. You always seem to follow any rude comment I make. Its as if you are constantly watching what I do wanting to slap warning points onto my account. You show up out of nowhere every time and just comment that my comment was mean or rude. Point out which part you didnt like. Then tell me not to do it again.

Consider your stupid challenge completed. Im gonna go back to watching my movies and playing games and enoying my care-free lifestyle in which I do what I want as a youngster with no worries. :>While you, a man in his mid-30's shall waste away playing games in his free time and worrying about a 16-year old on the internet.

It is my job to make sure forums are a safe and fun place for everyone. At the moment you are the Number 1 trouble maker on the forums, and for that you are being more closely watched than any other player.
As for any of your bans, every one of them was due to a rude or inappropriate comment, none were due to "no real reason". If you wish to discuss any of them specifically then feel free to do so. If you were to make a friendly comment worthy of commenting I'd just as readily say so. Unfortunately these have been few and far between, and thus, you have seen more "rude" related comments rather than the opposite. However, if your behavior changes for the better in the future, then expect alot more more comments to reflect that.

PS. Why do you assume that I'm in my mid 30s :p

STOP ARGUING on this thread. Either take this somewhere else, or I will be forced to either have a mod lock this thread or I will delete it

You seem knowledgable in a lot of areas, and at one point, in my appeal, you mentioned something about how the appeal was taking up some of your time at work. So thats why I assume you are a loner in your mid-30s who plays minecraft and is more worried about a 16 year old on the internet than his job.

I do apologise, as I believe this thread is about giving mods feedback more than anything else, I was merely responding to the baseless negative accusations brought against me by a player.

I'm sure you know what they say about assumeing :)

taking up time at work means nothing for age. I have a job and im 15. People who have jobs can span between the age of 14-75
