So recently I have been seeing an issue with the moderator to player ratio. Definitely with the holiday season. I see greenies all the time trying to get attention: "Some guy just took my diamond!!!" Etc. but there wasn't any mods on to help. And I couldn't help either. And this happens all the time even when there are moderators on because the donators love to use those colors in chat and it makes non-donor chat pretty much invisible. So I'm not saying to remove colors or add more staff (good staff is hard to come by) but simply make a moderator request command. Like /staff (issue) and it will notify the staff and the staff only in bright blinking colors that so and so has an issue. And it has a staff request limit, maybe once every 2 minutes so it can't be spammed.

    Just a thought

I know what you mean, sometimes the bright donors tend to draw attention. However many times I see the greenies are only giving very vague messages like "Help" or "such and such is a scammer" and I have people messaging me so i handled the messages first.
And with possibly 10 other people who need help at the same time and one moderator it is difficult.
And I know what other will say, holidays are the busiest times where many mods cannot get on much like normal players cannot get on. Having alerts that blink is not a great idea, even if it gets attention. The main way to draw attention is to message a mod.
Mods may also be afk or in the middle of dealing with someone so a degree of patience is required.
Adding more mods work great but thats something that will be done in time.
Its not the easiest job moderating the holidays but things will improve hopefully.

Yeah I understand. Just today I went on and saw a lot of cases like this and felt like I needed to at least try to do something :) but I understand your point of view dealing with 350-450 people all at once will be difficult to do. But surely we can find some way to help the situation out in the end

It would be abused like every other command players get to use. Sorry no support. I don't think our mods would appreciate spam of Help: how do I minecraft

Which is why there would be a limit like 1 every 2!minutes but that still wouldn't stop spam from just a lot of different people at once. Sort of agree.

I think promoting more mods is needed. Activity in a some mods have dropped lately. Moderating 500 people alone can be difficult. So you might have to wait your turn at getting help as the mod might be trying to deal with multiple things. As for the command, I don't think it's really necessary. Basically what I said above ^

Sounds like it could be useful, but as larrythebird101 said. More mods might be the main issue here.

I think this would be great for both servers, especially with New Year advertises and such, but adding mods would be great, too. Most moderators aren't as active at this time, some going back to school and for the holidays, and I think that this happens in winter and summer. The plugin may cause lag, but I'm not familiar with those so don't trust me on at subject, yet may be used often. It would may help when someone has a glitch with their island, which is great, but perhaps someone may send it for useless reasons. I support, it may cause problems, but overall it could be better for both servers.

I see barely any mods when I play.
I think we need more Asia/Oceania mods.

I agree... I also think they should have more mods in different times zones. This way people in America, UK, Aussi, New Zealand, Canada would have different mods on at the same time as that.
There are quite a few players that would make very good mods, but we all have to wait and see. It would be nice if they did something like every 2/3 months... They would announce 1 or 2 mods.

I barely seen any mods when I play and I'm in EST. About 50% of staff is EST or Central so that's really sad.

I spend most of the time on Net just refunding people simple things. I mean I'm poor on net but it's rare for non-donors to see a diamond. It doesn't hurt to give a little of your kit to people. I mean most of them aren't gonna lie to get 10 iron, so why not help if we get it free. I've rebuilt people's islands, not to full but they appreciate anything you do. I've received msgs saying I'm more helpful then staff before. Also, most non donor trades are 1 grass for some cobble. Just refund the player (if it's a small trade, bigger trades that's a different deal) if there's no logs. Take it out of your supplies. Don't be a d*** and say no logs go work for it yourself. Heck if you are too butt hurt about losing your supplies msg me I'll refund them ffs.

We need a dedicated staff team. I play on servers with 10 people who run a 1750 person server on average. That's server is so well moderated I'm kicked the instant I swear.

Sounds like most people that reply on this thread are talking about more the amount of moderators than the ability for them to get to the 20 different things that are happening at once. Which I agree with. The more I actually look out for the mods after I created this post and looked at the replies. The more I agree with what most of the people in the reply section are saying. There arnt enough mods, Thanks for the feedback

Same goes for .org I guess, we just need to promote more people imo. Remembering the name trial moderator, meaning they don't have to become Full mods if we don't think they're able or something . (This sounds a bit harsh, wasn't intended)

I do that too. It's a lot of fun. I've started watching for the new people who just want someone to say Hi or be their friend. A little help for 8 and 10 yr olds goes a long way. Now that I'm past bare survival, I just give the new players stuff and refuse the trade unless they insist. The donors who helped me at the start really made a big difference. It's nice to give back. :)

Also, I used an app that allowed for you to make tickets for requests for help from moderators and it helped us, as staff to keep track of high traffic. If someone abused the system we temp banned them. Of course that was a creative server and the traffic was not as high. Still, if people took the trouble to make an actual /modreq it usually meant they really needed help.

The constant cries for saplings is not a mod issue and the community seems to be quick to help. I'm thinking this plugin idea could be extremely helpful! Maybe it could just be tried out. We often reminded people that we only had a few admins and a ton of requests and to be patient. It worked fine especially on heavy traffic days during the holidays. It also allowed a player to leave a request when no mod was present or report griefing in game. Wherever you make the request that location was recorded. Then when staff showed up they could see the list of requests and deal with them.

Yup as I said before seems like being able to get notified about an issue is not the problem here. I guess .net and .org according to madness needs more mods. Hopefully they will add more soon. But I don't really see what we can do about it on this thread since we are not the ones to add staff.;)

If a staff member could close the thread unless anyone else wants to say anything. I don't really see what we can do here.
