Main point of this thread is to point out the difference between .org and .net even thought they have the same rules. Also, to point out the fact that it wasn't like this 6 months ago. The crude humor and vulgarity was far from what it is now.

First the basic and simple chat rules for both server and forums:
    • No cussing, swearing, cursing, bad language etc, remembering: Just because it is censored does not make it okay to swear. Keep the language clean. On the forums, If you are afraid that something you posted has some mature language, use spoilers. Check the forum rules for more information on this: Forum Rules | Skyblock Forums
    • Do not mention sexual terms: similar to above, sexual content and language is NOT appropriate for the younger audience. This included use of terms for sexual organs and parts, the act of sexual intercourse or any related slang words.
    • No racism: in the context of the server, this means that we do not discriminate, harass, and be intolerant of other peoples' races by the words we use and things we say. So racial slurs and slang are not tolerated. Even if we believe it won't cause offence to say a certain term, we have to act as if it will.
    • No name calling, bullying and threats: there will be zero tolerance towards people trying to bully others. Do not ever name call and label, bully or harass or threaten other players in public or private message. This may be the internet, and you may be saying its stupid to let their threats get to you, but it happens. There is not "get over it", words, even written can hurt.
    • Do not fight publicly: There are friendly debates, and then there are arguments that can turn very ugly, quite quickly. Do not fight in public. No one needs to see it. Whats more, it's an invitation for other players to get involved. Keep it private, or block/ignore the person you have the grievance with.
There are also quite a number of sensitive topics that should be avoided, especially if you use them in a joking matter.
    • Suicide/self harm (and the emo label): Suicide and self harm are serious issues. Joking about it is not on, and neither is using the label "emo" in such a manor. In fact all metal health related issues and disorders are not really topics that need to be discussed unless in a supportive way.
    • Rape: I will tell you that this topic makes me very uncomfortable for reasons I have stated elsewhere. Rape is never funny, and is not a joke. Its not a term you throw around in public chat.
    • Race: again we should cut race out of the equation. No need to mention it, no need to comment about it, and just chat like we are all as one race which technically we are.
    • culturally sensitive historical events: is it necessary to talk about these things? no. If you want a history lesson consult your history teacher or our good friend wikipedia
    • Death: Be a little sensitive to those who are grieving. I know we use the word "die" a lot, just don't joke about death.
    • Religion: Big one this is. We respect peoples beliefs, but what we do not to is mention religion and its teaching in public chat. Never, ever ridicule or make fun of religious groups either.
I'm sure there are so many other topics that make people uncomfortable. Controversial and sensitive topics are best left in private and not on the forums or the server.

I wrote this up ages ago. This is my last word on this

Alright, so...different people have different 'sense of humour' and 'values in words'. Correct? That's completely fine. But what we gotta remember is that this is a 'public server'. Before we say something, we should consider if the others will also take it as a joke. If they do, great! You've made everyone laugh, which is good. But if they don't, I think it's the right thing to apologise to them if they disliked it or felt offended from what you said. Just an opinion.

    Also,
Well, I must admit, moderators can be biased towards higher-level donors with more power...but that's just human nature to be completely honest. :( I'm sure they try their best not to, but anyone would be biased towards those they're more familiar with - whether that's good or bad. :/

    Then fix it you idiot.
Trust me, bat pulled some serious s*** to get unbanned.
See larrythebadmod? This is how you fix it.
Human nature creates bias in all decisions. Mods are rarely biased towards donors. Friends have an easier time with mods though.

Take me for example: Uber banned 39 times on all crew servers. A lot of my unbans have had input or were carried out by a friend. McMuffin, Troy, Ninja, and Artie are all examples of this. Of course, it does take some serious convincing to make a friend out of people you constantly argue with.

It's pretty obvious why they don't get banned...

Anyways, it's the staffs fault it's not G Rated. If they actually would read the rules they'd know swearing is a kick. now days I can say about anything with a ** and I don't get a kick / warning. It'd also help if staff would follow the rules. I know many staff members who swear all day in chat.

Mhm calling me an idiot will really help. If you really think I'm a bad mod then report me.

It takes more than one mod to fix the problem. All the mods need to work on this in order for it to be fixed. I was planning to reply with something about this later once I'm on my computer, but seems you didn't give me time to.

I'm not going to start an argument as it'll end in a flame war which will cause this thread to end up being locked.

Literally two best replies in my opinion the thread has gotten. The staff isn't enforcing the rules like they used to. I didn't want to say this in the first post, as it would seem like I'm making wild accusations. When I joined .net, any kind of sexual or dirty reference would get you a kick or even a mute without warning if what you said was bad enough.

All mods are not on the same page, yes. But not only that it seems there is less dedication to moderating from some staff, a lot of our really good staff left and its becoming increasingly hard to get decently strict because that makes us abusive mods who make up rules and more. I don't care if im reported for enforcing the rules but not everyone doesn't care.
But how many people are really trying to make the difference? Its not an easy task.

Simply add "I'm not on my computer right now. I'll give a more in-depth reply when I am"

And calling you and idiot was just my way of of saying "you're and idiot". For no specific reason.

Vulgarity is vulgarity and this server is a family friendly server, there's no way you can justify using those words, even if it's a 'joke'.

Get over yourselves and stop using such language around children.

    someone on .org was making really racist and sexual jokes the other day, and claiming that it was a "virus" he downloaded. this caused a "debate" between a few of is as to what is classed vulgar and not, and to be honest I thought about it like this;
if it wouldn't be shown on television before "watershed" (the time where people can start swearing after) then I don't believe it should be on a "G" rated server.

Simple solution. Add those words to Pwn Filter.

While it might solve some of the problem, people will always find a way around it.

Well there's rules for a reason. If we add it to Pwn filter, and they still find a way around it, it warrants at least a mute, or a warning.

Mods don't have to tell you to do something to make you not do it. You should know the rules

This is fast turning into a flame war, I believe the OP's point has been made, if you can't stick to a civil conversation on the matter this post will be locked, and warning points will be applied.
