I started this thread pretty angry actually, and I am very pleased with how it's gone. Nobody has really gotten angry. I think it's good to let positive beneficial suggestions and feelings out.
Bravo, I appreciate people like you in life. You are willing to say what's on your mind, but in a kinder manner. And yes, I do agree with you. Little kids do play on this server and shouldn't follow these types of people. I support you to the fullest with this endeavor and suggest a permanent mute for Shadowdragon.
I'd like to post an update since the start of this thread. So far Shadowdragon is behaving and I've lifted my anger towards him offering a 100% fresh start with me. He and I have for the first time chatted in game and he has me believing in him, perhaps it's just me wanting him to be a better person. So for now we can only hope he sticks with it this time. Being courteous is pretty easy!
Firstly, I don't think we need an entire thread dedicated to demeaning another player and picking a fight. This easily could have been mentioned privately to a mod and handled from there. Despite him "turning his behavior around" and me truly believing people can change, he has had so, so many chances. As far as I know, he's been banned six times at least, two for griefs (and one was a mod) one for nick abuse, and then some for verbal assault. He's obviously not learned his lesson, his last ban appeal was not even a week ago. He has no respect for the community or it's members, no respect for the staff, and certainly no respect for you. He's not turning over a new leaf anytime soon. I know this is going to repeat itself again, and he's going to weasel himself out like he always miraculously does. But, even though I've never had the displeasure of interacting with him, I can already tell he's just bad news. It's beyond me how he's still on the server when he's a repeat offender, doing some pretty bad things over and over that some members have gotten banned for for doing just once. Forgive me if I'm being harsh or whatever, but I really hate to see something like this continue. It's not my job to analyze his behavior and try to draw conclusions, but I can't imagine that he's suddenly going to stop doing what he's been doing without anybody batting an eyelash at how strange that is. He should have been permanently banned after the second griefing offense.
Sarcastiel This thread was created as stated many times at the mods and the system for letting this happen. Not at demeaning shadow. If you read all the responses even Shadow himself say's he doesn't understand why he has been given so many chances. They chose to let him back again so what's done is done. I was just displaying my anger towards that again not an attack on Shadow
I understand, reaching out directly to a staff member could have saved a lot of time for you and embarrassment for him. I'm not necessarily speaking directly to you when I say he should have been banned, and more just thinking out loud. I definitely agree with you in the sense that this is a problem that needs to be solved, but it really could have been privately mentioned. But if he's as volatile as you say and he's had this entire thread made about him I can only imagine he's going to get upset by it and try to retaliate.
If I was still a mod I would have permanently banned his sorry a** years ago. Any alts that come up would be gone too. Step it up mod team this is pathetic and unacceptable. Use my god damn rules and guidelines to help you out. It ain't hard yo.
