    PEDMAS is the American acronym for carrying out mathematical operations, which stands for Parenthesis, Exponents, Division, Multiplication, Addition and Subtraction.

    BODMAS or BIDMAS is the UK or Australian equivalent.

    BODMAS stands for Brackets, Order (powers, roots), Division, Multiplication, Addition and Subtraction.

    BIDMAS stands for Brackets, Indies (powers, roots), Division, Multiplication, Addition and Subtraction.

    Exponents, Order or Indices all mean the same thing i.e. (powers and roots).

    Solve.
    2.75÷26.3(257²-10÷3) Do whats inside the brackets first
    2.75÷26.3(66049 - 3.33333) Powers first then division
    2.75÷26.3(66045.66667) Complete the subtraction
    2.75÷1737001.03333 Complete the division

    Problem 2:
    Simplify.
    12.36(23y+26a)=30a+3y Expand what is inside the brackets
    12.36 x 23y + 12.36 x 26a = 30a + 3y
    284.28y + 321.36a = 30a +3y Collect like terms
    284.28y - 3y + 321.36a - 30a = 30a - 30a + 3y - 3y
    281.28y + 291.36a = 0

    Solve for the variable.
    23y+13=174 Subtract 13 from both sides of the equation
    23y = 161 Divide both sides of the equation by 23
    y = 7

    Problem 4:
    Lacey has a basketball with a radius of 4.25 inches. She wants to find the exact area of the basketball so she can wrap it up as a Christmas gift for her friend Amanda. (pretend that she can magically make the paper go in a sphere) Exactly how much wrapping paper will she need?

    The equation for the surface of a sphere is given by

    A = 4 x π x r^2 ... Eq 1
    Let r = 4.25 and substitute r into Eq1
    A = 4 x π x (4.25)^2
    A = 226.980069 inches squared
    A = 226.98 rounded to two decimal places

    What is twenty-seven over thirteen as a percent?

    27/13 x 100/1 To convert any number to a percent we multiply it by 100
    2700/13
    207.69% to two decimal places

    its radius cubed, and 4/3 instead of 4 :3

    The question asks for the area (A = 4 x π x r^2) of the basketball, not the volume (V = 4/3 x π x r^3.)
    So my answer is based on the area of the sphere and not the volume, unless I have mistakenly misread the question.

    I have no idea what happened here xD But it was like, 10 pm when I wrote the math problems... And even later when I solved them LOL! So idk... Anyone want to help me find the winner? Like, vote winner on whoever got it correct xP

    There are 5 questions. So I think the only one that stands out as being wrong is question number 2. Xdras and me agree that the following are correct 1,3,4 and 5.
    It would seem question 2 is the hardest one.

    I have expanded my solution to question 2 above where I solved it.

    Yeah... I accidentally added an extra variable in 2. But, there is still a way to simplify xP But... Yeah, it can really be taken any way; simplifying is often the same thing as solving. Don't do #2 lol

    First there is no answer for number four cuz your supposed to find the perimeter not the area

    Surface Area* No such thing as perimeter for a 3 dimensional object.

    When someone says area of a 3d Object, it means surface area. Or it could be an accident and they meant volume volu
