Minecraft Account Buying/Selling

    Under no circumstance should you be buying or selling a Minecraft account. This is not a rule that is negotiable as the server has not set this rule, but Mojang itself.

    I have taken the liberty of pulling out the exact place in that document that states this:

    Remember the game is not just the software but your account.
    If you are asked if you want to buy an account, decline the offer and report the player to a moderator immediately. This warning comes after several players have been buying accounts using server items and finding their account they bought banned, unusable or shared by another person. Any person who is caught selling accounts will be permanently banned.

    What about account codes? I swear I've bought like 12 under the impression that they were legal.

    I have no idea. I take it as a code is like a license key and should not be resold. But not 100% sure on account codes.

    If the account code wasnt a gift code that was obtained through their specific gift code system then it's not legal to trade. But this post is referring mostly to 2nd hand accounts that have been previously owned and now are being resold.

    And in case you were wondering if purchasing a minecraft gift code through the method allowed by Mojang and giving it to someone in exchange for items in game is allowed, the answer is no as previously stated by Cypriotmerks. All transactions regarding in game items have to be made through Buycraft. If you're worried about chargebacks and wish to route the money through your PayPal first I suggest contacting Cyp or Crew directly first to explain your intentions and seeking approval

    u can be chargebacked though paypal just as easily as u can be charge backed though buycraft.

    If im not mistaken when the money is transferred to you in the paypal then you use it on buycraft, the money is sent through and it cannot be chargedback as they would have to directly charge back the buycraft transaction. So basically you are upgrading yourself and then you wont be banned from the server.

    If you bought an account in the past be careful because if the original owner of the account contact Mojang and provide them with the transaction ID etc they can easily get the account back. ;p

    I've never really been one to sell this kind of stuff, I'm always wary about everything that could mess up xD I just don't really wanna stuff anything up. Thanks for going to the effort to make this thread though :>
