Do they know that 100 people have blue and 900 have red? Or do they not know that?

My answer is that on the 100th day, all of the 100 blue-eyed people will commit ritual suicide.

Say there is just 1 one blue-eyed person on the island, you can show that he obviously dies on the first night, because he knows he's the only one the tourist person could be talking about, because he can look around and see no-one else with the blue eyes.

Therfore: MY FIRST THEORY IS If there is only 1 blue-eyed person, he would commit suicide on the first night.

If there are two blue-eyed people, they would see each other. They will each realise that "if I don't have blue eyes [Theory #1], then that other guy is the only blue-eyed person. And if he's the only person, by [Theory #1] he will commit suicide tonight." They each wait until the next day, and when neither of them are dead on the first night, they both realise... "My FIRST THEORY was incorrect. I must have blue eyes." (because otherwise the other man would have commit suicide by seeing that they were the only person with blue eyes) that And they would both commit suicide on the second night.

Therefor: [MY SECOND THEORY]: If there are 2 blue-eyed people on the island, they will each die on the 2nd night.

If there are 3 blue-eyed people, each one will look at the other two and go through the same thinking as the theories above. Each considers the 2 possibilities: "I don't have blue eyes" or "I have blue eyes." He will know that if he doesn't have blue eyes, there are only two people with blue eyes on the island; the two that he can see. So he waits two nights, and if no one has committed suicide, he knows he must have blue eyes also. [MY SECOND THEORY] states that if he didn't, the other guys would have died. When he sees that they didn't die, he knows his eyes must be blue. All three of them are doing this exact same process, so they all figure it out on the third day and commit suicide.

This process should work all the way up to 99, which each person on the island in this problem will of course know. Then they'll all wait 99 days, then see that the everyone else hasn't died, and on the 100th night, they all commit suicide.

I think your hint helped "time is everything".
Anyways, My final answer is : ALL PEOPLE WITH BLUE EYES WILL DIE ON THE 100th DAY

That is incredibly close, you have the reasoning right, but the answer slightly wrong. But close enough, we have a winner. :D (even though I have reason to believe you are good at research :3)

Ill post the reasoning and answer soon. If anyone wants me to explain it start a chat.

    No.
But I heard a riddle that was like
"Three people are in a line all facing forward. There are 2 red hats and 2 grey hats. Someone randomly puts hats on all of their heads. The person at the back is asked if they know what colour they are. (they will always so NO unless the 2 people infront have the same colour) Who knows what colour they have?"

The answer is similar to this riddle, but also pretty different.

The answer is the second person should know, because if the person at the back doesn't know, then that means the 1st and 2nd people MUST have different colour hats. So, the second person must have the opposite colour of the person infront.

Anyway yeah, I thought of that riddle and I came up with my idea, and also, your hint helped me a little.

Sure, anyway congrats. If your online now, collect your prize :), I just find it strange, that I never said anything about an island. Whereas your answer and the original question did.

Also you can collect an extra 5 diamonds for extremebear if you see him.

Oh yeah, I was half way through writing my response (didn't want to start again) and I couldn't remember where it was located. But I remembered a "tribe" so I just went with an island.

Also, can u PM me the 100% correct answer. Im curious to see where I was off

The blue-eyed islanders puzzle | What's new <- The real question

I changed it somewhat, so the answer is infact on the 101th day at noon all the blue eyes people will suicide.

    Logic says. Imagine this
    2 tribes people, 1 foreigner.
1 of them has blue eyes, one of them has red eyes.

Now the foreigner says, I see someone with red eyes.
The red eyed person sees no other red eyed person so he will then suicide.

Now imagine this with 2 eyed people, on the first day they will assume its the other person, but on the second day, they realize that the other person must be assuming its them and not suicide.

Basically this is the very basics of induction.

Really? You should disqualified. Nearly 80% of this paragraph is plagiarized. Sorry, but you don't deserve the prize for copying a direct solution to similar problem.

xdras He should be disqualified. Because the solution is almost exactly similar to this particular one: Blue Eyes - The Hardest Logic Puzzle in the World - Solution

    Hence the mentioning of 'island.'

You question specifically said a tribe in the mountains, never an island.

I'm sorry, but I'm not convinced that you wrote that by yourself or had logical reasoning behind that. That is a simple copy-paste and couple edit of words and replace of few words.
