So recently I have found out that some people when they make ramen keep the water instead of straining it. I did not know this until now. I don't know whats more common and would like to know. I personally strain the water and keep the noodles

Do you keep the water so the ramen is like soup?
Do you strain the water to have it just as noodles?

I do keep the water, but, I only use just enough to cook it, not enough to really make it soupy. And I don't break the noodles. I keep them long and loose.

I don't drain the soup because I don't like my noodles dry.

Alternatively, I usually add a bowl of rice to the rest of the soup after I'm done with the noodles so I don't waste it xD

Don't break the noodles, pour out about half the water, put what's left in a bowl, add seasoning packet.
