Change Default Steve Skin
This tutorial is for anyone who would like to change the default steve texture, or any mob for that matter.
There are several reasons you might want to do this:

• You play 1.7.5 an cannot see donors skins (they are steves because of coloured tags)
• You play 1.7.2 + and cannot see custom heads but want to see skins
• You want a better looking skin in offline play
• Or just because you hate steve

What you will need:

• A texture pack/resource pack
• a skin
• windows pc
• winzip or winrar

1. Download a skin from any skin website (nova skins, skindex etc im not google). Save this file in a place you can access it later from.
2. Download a texture pack if you haven't already and install it. Use this site to help you:Installing Minecraft Resource Packs | Minecraft Texture Packs
3. Open up my documents or my computer and type %APPDATA% and press enter
4. Open up .minecraft folder and find the folder resource packs
5. Find the texture pack zip file an open it.
6. Most packs are arranged the same way. So find the assets folder, then in that folder click minecraft
   
7. Click on textures folder, then entity, then find steve.png
8. Delete steve.png (you may want to back it up first). Then find where you saved your custom skin and click and drag that file into the zip. IMPORTANT: rename the file steve.png
9. Then close all open windows and get into minecraft and enjoy no longer seeing Steve.
