Recently, some spambots have been spamming a link in chat that's a complete scam. This link takes you to this website: As you can see, it appears to be completely legitimate. Do not let this fool you, however. If you were to put in your account and password, the site would then take over your account and use it to further advertise the link and spam up the chat, or something along those lines. Basically, don't put your minecraft password into any site that isn't Minecraft or Mojang — Makers of Minecraft, it's most likely a scam. I hate to see players banned just because they wanted a free minecon cape. Oh, also. If you'd like to know what exactly this is, go here: Phishing - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Thanks.
Just never visit links that people post in chat that promise: Free capes Account generators free gift codes Any link that is not from a website you know The main links people post that are legit are Twitch channels youtube links skyblock.net Never part with your minecraft details.
Use common sense when entering a password. I would advise look at the URL at the top before doing anything.
This has been happening for ages, I'm pretty sure there's still another thread out there on it. It's not a spambot, it's completely automated, the accounts posting the link; the people who own them have put their details into the site and they make that account spam it etc. it's just a massive chain reaction
I'm safe, the browser on the computer I have minecraft on doesn't even work, so I couldn't click these even if I wanted to lol
