I've seen a lot of trading threads lately and what I've noticed is that people just say the price even when stuff doesn't sell for that much. Example: Someone said a portal frame is 576 diamonds. It doesn't sell for that, sorry buds. If it doesn't sell for that much, it's not worth that much.

Trading thread annoy me so much. The point is the seller can determine the cost and what they want for it, and people either buy it or not.
No price is set, everything is almost cheaper than people say it is and pretty much all the systems are a lie. So good luck serious traders but im not worrying about the prices.

A seller can "set" a price, but if the buyer won't pay that price, then it's not "worth" that.

Ye the amount of end portal frames in the economy are high and the amount of people who have 64 diamonds blocks is low.

No, In my opinion the economy isn't ruined but it would be great if there was an equivalence system (or exchange rate) displayed somewhere, if only to guide the green beans. Too much "1 god item for a stack of dia blocks" in the chat. A simple "1 dia = 32 grass" or something like this (but tailored to suit the servers) Octain Economic Price-Guide for Minecraft

Prices will fluctuate - Shaped blocks that are rare now will reduce in value when 1.8 is fully implemented. Obsidian which is easily produced using Redstone will increase in value due to Obsidian Generators not working in 1.8 (and production being more difficult)

    Just my thoughts.

Yes, Unlegit items obviously deflate the economy as it's similar to printing your own money. This is a naturally occurring issue with daily injections of Diamonds, Iron, Redstone, Spawners etc through donor kits. Even greenbeans can create low value items such as stone blocks, logs, wheat etc without a fiscal penalty on themselves. Again this causes deflation. A way around this is to impose a tax of some kind to redress the balance. Easy in theory, impossible to control in practice.

    The economy is going downhill.
A healthy economy would be where the prices drop and rise.
Right now, the prices are only dropping.
One diamond goes for +-21 diamonds when it was 32 just two-three months ago.
Hell, it was worth 64 grass at one point.

Say what you want, but the economy isn't healthy on .net.
