Well, we haven't had a developer for many months now. We did have a few a long time ago, and in my eyes, that was the golden age of Skyblock. We felt a strong connection with the community, it was more connected. You could make a suggestion, and almost always get a response from a developer. Now these days, it just feels as if Skyblock is aging. I'm not saying people are getting tired of it, I'm saying that it could use some regular updates. Yes we do get some updates from time to time, but that includes a new minigame or new permissions. What makes a server special is the community, staff, and a unique experience. We have a good community and staff, but we are just missing the unique feel. Custom plugins are what I believe will really expand the server. Right now, there are hundreds of skyblock servers. They almost all have the same skyblock plugin (which is actually being updated regularly). We have had the same Skyblock plugin on .org for years. This could be far-fetched, but maybe it is time to look for another developer? Someone that will be involved in our community, who is also caring. It would be fantastic to know that someone could fix an issue with our server in the matter of a day. Just seeing .org utilize any of the new features from recent updates, would make me so glad. I can't imagine how happy I would be if I saw a big title when I logged on saying "Welcome" or something of the sort. At the moment we don't even have a server icon, who would want to click the Skyblock server when all the other servers have an eye-catching icon on theirs? We don't even have an updating MOTD. If we just had an attractive MOTD with bold letters, we would get much more attention. When something new occurs on the server, advertise the hell out of it. We should be proud of what we do, we want everyone to know that we are still working on the server one by one. When there aren't any new updates happening, just make a joke in the MOTD, anything asides from the same old "Skyblock" we have been seeing for so many years now. I am not here to complain about the server. I love this server, and I just wish that it would get the attention it deserves. Thank you for reading.
A fancy MOTD and server icon won't bring in new players... And a new dev won't solve the issues. It's not the dev that adds the ideas, it's Cyp and Crew. A dev would just be here to create a plugin if asked. Think of theway2cool1, he suggested so many things, most were turned down. I support the ideas, but if you are trying to bring in players, this won't do much, and even adding these won't do much except for a few words in your server lists and a picture...
You seem to have missed the idea behind this, just seeing a new update makes me feel as if the server is being cared for. If it's just a fancy icon or motd, then so be it. We haven't had a new one in years. If a players doesn't log on much, and they see bold letters about updates for a server, I am certain they will log on to see them (From personal experience) I'm also sure I never said that just adding these things will bring more players.... If there are obvious bugs, then I am sure the owners would love for a dev to solve them. These things are almost essential these days. We're falling back. I mean what server doesn't even have an icon these days?
