I experience a huge amount of lag on part of my island (lag at x:-13670 y:202 z:-9084). I asked other players to come and see if it affected them or just me, and one of them told me it's a corrupted chunk.

Any way to fix this?

 

Do you have any big animal farms, or big redstone contraptions?

 

There's 4 spawners very close and an auto-pumpkin farm on my island, but all of these are outside the affected area.

 

I'll check it out and see if anything is causing the lag.

 

I tp'd to the coords. There is nothing but a newisland and no lag.

 

Not sure why you couldn't find it. Go to /warp tero and the area can be found by going East and then looking South. I've marked it so people don't wander in by accident.

 

If it was a corrupted chunk, the server would have been down / kept crashing.

 

It's on org, just checked. I'll try seeing what it is that might be causing the lag.

 

I'm not sure what's causing it, but as an update I've discovered it's more like a strip right through my island from East to West. Seems to only be a few blocks thick, centered at around z: -9080

Again, my island is at /warp tero

 

I'll try looking again, though I do also really lag when I am there. If it is a corrupt chunk then we'll probably need Cyp to help, so I'll tag him.

I've been using 1.8 recently and not had any issues with the lag, but I can't see other users. Someone told me I could see them if I was using 1.7.2, but when I switched to that I started getting my lag problems again.

 

Well 1.7.2 is pretty outdated. Use 1.7.10 or 1.8 to reduce lag. Hope this helps

 

1.7.x has major lag issues, such as the game freezing or crashing entirely. Using 1.8 gets rid of the problem, but raises the new problem of not being able to see other users. Also, it's not really practical to warn any and all visitors to my island that if they're not in 1.8 they may start to lag in some areas, so me using 1.8 doesn't solve the problem entirely. Most people seem to be using 1.7.x so that they're able to see one another.

 

Weird.. 1.8.1 caused me to lag.. when I changed to 1.7.10 I had no lag at all..

 

Nothing has been done, to my knowledge.
