I been thinking about a few suggestions for the Chat system, You can disagree or agree with me.

I feel that there should be some more Chat commands, But tell me if this cannot work because I am not a Dev

[Commands like]

• /start groupchat - Allows you to start a group chat
• /leave groupchat - Allows you to leave group chat
• /groupchat invite [playername] - Allows you to invite more people ( Must be group chat leader )
• /groupchat kick [playername] - Allows you to kick people ( Must be group chat leader )

The concept of this is to chat without typing /msg [Playername] And for you to talk to multiple people
Ex. If you are in a coop party and you want to talk to everyone about something private like the location of your island or a chest you can go on groupchat.

Idk Maybe there can be a filter that Perm-Bans you if you curse a lot?

My only problem with this idea is that when someone is in the /groupchat, they won't be able to view the main chat.

The main chat is essential for people who need help, to do trading, etc. I feel like the main chat will be neglected if this were to be implemented.

The main chat is vital to survive on Skyblock! So what I was thinking was, When you just join Skyblock.net and friends want to groupchat with you, You will still be able to see main chat because that will be the default setting. But more experienced player with have the option to turn Main Chat off, which will not be ENCOURAGED. Also like /tpa you will be able to, /groupchat Accept and /groupchat Deny. Also if you are popular [ Mod, TMod, Admin, Cyp or Noobcrew ] you will to be able to /groupchat ignore or if you want to ignore a specific request you can /groupchat [playname] ignore, must likely wont happen . Also about the cussing, If the filter doesn't work players in the /groupchat can do /kickvote [playername]

If an "experienced player" can turn Main Chat off, then greenbeans who need help will lose out. Even if it's not encouraged, it will still be abused. Also, what makes someone an "experienced player"? Donation level doesn't denote experience, so how would that be gauged?

What if I get spammed with /groupchat requests? How many /groupchats can I be in at one time?

I feel like this suggestion is good in premise, but will segregate the community into little cliques. With things like Skype, Teamspeak and the forums, it's easier to connect with players than ever before.

 

Okey about the option to take off Main Chat can be removed, but when you are in a /groupchat you will still see
[ GroupChat ] msg [playername] or the other way? But If they keep the option to turn Main Chat off, a lot of players and Mods will still be on Main Chat. Also experience is when you think you know most things about Skyblock!

About being spammed you will be able to do /groupchat ignore all - allows you to ignore groupchat requests and you will be able to ignore a specific person's request by doing /groupchat ignore [playername]. And you will be able to only be in one /groupchat at a time, Just like a coop party you have to do, /groupchat accept - /groupchat deny & /groupchat leave

And about Skype, and Teamspeak I noticed a lot of people without them. And chatting with the forum will take time because you have to go one then the other.

You said "experience is when you think you know most things about Skyblock!". I disagree with this statement. There are many players who think they know it all, when they don't. There is always more to learn about Skyblock. And who would decide if they are an "experienced" player? If the player decides, then surely they will say they are "experienced".

So you mentioned [ GroupChat ] msg [playername] with the Main Chat still rolling. So how is this any different from /msg? Is it different because it says [GroupChat]? I don't see how this would change anything.

I have a large coop in Skyblock. As coop leader, I require that whomever joins my island must register on the forums and/or be added to Skype. That way I can keep in touch with them.

I will skip the part about Experience Players because you can remove that option permanently.

About [ GroupChat ] msg [playername] It will be made like that to stop confusion between Main Chat and /groupchat.
And its different from /msg Because you will be able to type way faster without typing /msg [playername] and you will be able to talk to multiple people than constantly typing Ex. /msg PixelatedDreamMC Go mine cobble! /msg MusicCentral build a house! /msg megadorkvikki Go to /warp mob. Trust it would change a lot!

And most people do not have have Skype , If you would poll people on the Skyblock Server about if they had Skype the majority of people would say no. Not trying to give any offense but when I ask if anyone have Skype its mostly [ Donors, SkyGods, and Mods or very well know people ]
