All the Text Box Tools!

Hi guys, I thought I would post a quick tutorial on what the buttons on the text box are and what they do.
If a guide like this exists already, sorry, I checked back a few pages
Each spoiler addresses a section of buttons.

Spoiler: Format remover

I'll go from left to right and explain what everything does.
So first up is this little guy.

Not one of the most used buttons, I must say.
He removes formatting.
By formatting, I mean color, underlining, italics, any text change.
He reverts back to normal.
Basically a master undo.

Spoiler: The first group, text effects.
Toggle Spoiler

First off is bold.

You click on this here B, and all your text will start to look like this until you click it again to turn it off.

Next you have Italics.

He works just like bold does, when you click your text looks like this. Click again to turn it off.

Next you have underline

Works like the other two, click for this, click again to turn off.

And last for that group is the wonderful strikethrough

Works like the other ones. Does this.

The next group of buttons is all about customizing text.
First up is color.

Click on that for a menu of colors to drop down.

Pick your color, and your text will look like this. Go back to the color menu and change it back to black for regular text.

Next is size.
4 is the default size, you can make your test smaller or bigger.

Click the button for the size menu.

You can change your text to any size, to change back, you just click the 4.

The last tool in this group is font.

Click that button for a list of fonts.
No the list doesn't have many creative ones

Click a font for this. To change it back click "Georgia", it is the default font.

Spoiler: Linking

The next two buttons are for linking and unlinking things.
To use them, you need to highlight a word, like this:

With the word highlighted, you click this little guy.
He looks like a LINK in a chain.

You'll get a box.

Stick a URL in there, and you'll end up with something like this. (It just takes you to the forums homepage )

The other button in this group is the unlink button.

So basically, you have a link.
You highlight it, and click that unlink button.
It will make it just a normal word.

Spoiler: Alignment

The next button is all alone, it lets you align your text differently.

Click on that, and you get three options.

Align left looks like

Align center looks like

Align right looks like

this
Default is align left, just click that again to go back to normal.

Spoiler: Margin and Bullet Tools

The first tool in this group is to make bullets.

If you click this, a single bullet will appear, like so:

You have to type something after the bullet so when you hit enter, it makes another one.

While this button is activated, each time you press enter a new bullet point will appear.
To disable it, click the button again, or press enter twice.

The next tool is used to make numbered lists.

When you click it, whatever line of text you're on will get a number 1, like so:

You must type after the one, then when you hit enter, a 2 will automatically appear.

As with the bullets, to disable, click the button again, or press enter twice.

The next tool is called an Outdent.

It can only be used after the next tool, the Indent.

The indent brings the text into the right, leaving a margin to the left, like so:

This is an indented sentence.
The indent continues until you hit the Outdent button.
The outdent brings the text back out to the default place.

Spoiler: Inserting media

The next group of tools is all about inserting media.
The first one is emoticons

Click on that little smiley face and a world of possibilities will open up.

Click on those, and they'll be put in where your cursor is.
They also have word and keyboard face shortcuts.
For example, is : t without the space.

Click on the button again to hide the emoticon menu.

Next up is the Insert Image button.

If you click this button, you get a box

If you right click an image anywhere, and choose "Copy Image URL" then you can post it here.
Just paste that URL right there, and the image will be inserted.

The insert video button works the same way

It does have some limitations on the box itself though.

The limitations on video sources are to prevent certain types of videos from gracing our forums with their presence.
If you right click a video or click the share button, you'll find a video URL option.
Copy that and paste it right there.
Spoiler: Code and Quotes

The first button in this section allows you to post code for others.

You click it, and get a box like this

As you can see, there's the language, and a place for you to put the code.
Although I have no idea how to code, I'll show you an example of what this looks like within a thread.
Code:
This is in no way code or anything close to coding.
You can also type this manually using (code) TEXT. (/code) with [] instead of ().

The next tool is Quote.

All it does is insert (quote) (/quote) With []'s of course.
And it's basically useless because you have to know a player's forum name and number.
Just use the reply button
Spoiler: Drafts

The next button looks like the typical save button.
It saves Drafts.

So if you're writing a huge thread like this one, click that button to save if you're afraid you're going to lose something. The forums will remember it for ya.
You'll get a save and delete draft option box.
Pretty self-explanatory.

Spoiler: Undo and Redo

Next buttons are undo and redo

They undo and redo your last action, just like every other undo and redo ever.
Simple enough

And the last button.

I don't know how to do this, if you do then you obviously don't need this tutorial.

A couple notes.
It took me over an hour to make this thread, I hope you guys like it.
If you have something you think I should add, don't hesitate to leave a comment!
Also, I far exceeded the amount of files I could upload directly to the thread, so I had to get pretty creative with getting about half of these pictures on here. So if they don't show up I'm sorry.

Nice c; Just the pictures in Margin and Bullet Tools, Inserting Media, Code and Quotes, and Drafts don't work

That's the problem.
I've exceeded the limit of posts I can directly add as files, so I just took the image URL and inserted them and hoped for the best.
Any ideas?

Pretty sure that button lets you edit the text directly in BB code, by using the tags available. Dont

I think you missed about indenting a bullet point list.

Like making a point like this

But making another point under a dot point

And more

And more

And maybe it works with numbers

Like so

I know that some of the pictures are broken, but I've exceeded the limit.
I may try something later that involves deleting all the feedback posts so far, making replies, and telling about those sections within the replies instead of the original post, so I can directly upload the pictures...
Lot of work.
