    Hi all,

I was laying in bed thinking, and a theory popped up in my mind that I don't understand. I think that I have caught out mods on a technicality. Here is the observation:

During ban appeals, some people use the excuse about other people using their mc account. In response, all mods say that "We ban the account, not the person. Your account is your responsibility". Now I also remembered, many people's alts are banned for the reason "Ban evading". Now here is the technicality:

If mods ban the account, not the person, how is the person "ban evading" when they are not banned themselves, but the account is. When mods ban the alt, they are, by their own words, "Banning an innocent person" as no person is at fault, and the alt did nothing wrong.

So, I employ all mods alike, if anyone can explain how this makes sense, I would be very grateful.

They ban the account, and the account is banned, punished, and without an appeal can't be unbanned, now, it's true, you can't punish a player for ban evading and say it's the account, but you can say the first account commited a "crime" on the server, and is punished, and now the second account is banned for the same offense, it's not a matter of banning players, it's a matter of banning people who break a rule, and evading a ban happens to break a rule, so therefore both accounts have deserved a ban. Not a Moderator, but in my eyes this should explain it.

But the player is not punished, the account is, and the account is not ban evading as it is not being used. I understand what you are saying, and yes, but under so many technicalities, ban evading is impossible to accomplish

Dark, it's not about technicalities and I'm not here to argue, if you wanna go and joke around you go do that, but the fact is a statement Moderators are required to say doesn't really prove you point, and really if you want to get technical about it, the ACCOUNT that's been banned, has an IP address, the IP address is part of the account, and is banned, now if there's another account with that part of the banned account, it is also banned, because it's part of the other account, and in turn is part of the problem.

The mods ban the account that did wrong. And the person who is behind the account potentially did the crime even if they said they didn't and are just using an excuse. So therefore the alt is another account that can be accessed by the person and therefore must be banned for safety.
Ban Evading: act of accessing the server when your account has been banned.
By no means is anyone permitted to use an alt to access the server while their original account has been banned. This is designed to keep the server safe while the person is appealing.
The technicality you are stating is banned on a statement that needs to be changed and I dont agree with.
Your account, your responsibility suits better than "we ban the account not the player".
    This is a problem however,
players find loopholes, exploit them, and make reports on mods abusing power. We dont need to overthink these rules, its common sense.
