What happens when you quit smoking?

First, let's talk about the horrible things that happen to you mentally and physically when you smoke. Cigarettes have been linked to lung, throat, and mouth cancer and have strengthened the risk for heart troubles and respiratory difficulties. All these things can shorten your life span by x2 or more. When you start to try and quit smoking, your body begins to break down and stress you out. This reason is because your body is addicted to the nicotine that lies within cigarettes. What exactly is in cigarettes you may ask? Well, Cigarettes contain over 4,000 chemicals so today I will share only the most common ones to you: Acetone, Ammonia, Arsenic, Benzene, Butane, Carbon Monoxide, Cadmium, DDT, Formaldehyde, Hydrogen Cyanide, Napthalene, Nicotine, Polonium, Sulphur Compounds, and TSNA. I will post a link to the definitions of these chemicals if you would like to read more into them and how some of them may be seriously harmful to your body.

Now, what exactly happens to your body when you quit smoking? There are 4 major withdrawals that happen to your body when you quit. The first one that is the most common is your digestive system. What happens is you may have heartburn, indigestion, nausea, and diarrhea nonstop. These symptoms will become worse as time progresses before it begins to let up and die out. Secondly, your respiratory system will show signs of sinus congestion, coughing, phlegm, and hoarseness. In the morning times, you will get up and cough up black, slimy gook that was located deep inside your throat from all of the chemicals that were building up inside of you. This is very gross and harmful to your body. Thirdly, your circulatory system will begin to act up and you may feel dizzy, stiff, or tingling in your hands or feet. Last of all, you may experience lack of sleep. But if you go through all of this, you will earn up to several more years of your life and live more healthier than you used to while you smoked.

Let us be the generation to stop smoking all together.

Thank you for reading What Happens When...

It says "You don't die"... not lie. I know the letters are vaguely similar, but next time re-read it please :3

You're telling me you don't die from what cigarettes cause? I don't understand. Your sentence was very vague. (Also, it said lie but you just edited my dear. ;) It's okay to admit that you made a mistake.)

...I legitimately haven't edited it. If a staff did it, please let me know first before you mess around with my posts .-.
