Hey everyone .

I know that for all of those whose mother tongue is english , this is a very usless suggestion, but Im here to represent all the other people , the ones with spanish , french , german and other mother tongues .

Im sure you are all familliar with the "bad spelling" rating , and Im sure many of you have probably used it before , and If you havent you probably will use it in this thread .. because its there and if its there it means its ok to use it right .. ? Well no .. and that where my suggestion comes in.

Personally , and Im sure many others , find the "bad spelling" rating , kind of rude,or atleast I do.

We are not perfect and yes some of you might say " Oh I do it to help you " but that is not true .... at least when I get a bad spelling rating and I try to find my mistakes .. well I cant ... So if what you really want is to help , msg me or who ever made a spelling mistake .. and tell them what they did wrong , so that they can actually improve their english , and do the needed corrections ...

My Suggestion is : Remove the Bad spelling rating & if this is not possible then this is more like a message to the everyone reading ; Please , remember we are not all from the Us , or England or any other english countriess ... we have people from all around the world .. and I know I dont have perfect english , and I make many mistakes but please ... msg me and correct me instead of using a rude rating , that does nothing good but judges the others .

Also, if I remember correctly, the bad spelling rating that I got was on a post, where I was spelling improperly on purpose to prove a point. XD Plus, we come here to chat and relax, not neccesarily have perfect spelling and grammar. So though I'm not sure it will be removed, as Cyp said it wouldn't be when he changed it from a negative to a neutral rating, I support.

 

I think it should be removed because it is pointless. It was also abused on me by thellman3000 who randomly gave me one :/

 

I was once given this rating when I was auto corrected while using my iPad, it was removed when I explained it was auto correct.
Although I know that my English and spelling is pretty decent, while those that get similar grades to me are clever, their spelling can be poor. I don't think that it should necessarily be removed. It does encourage those that use poor English to start using decent English. The the reason why I use the forums more than Facebook and other social media (except Snapchat ), us because I know that most of the people here have decent English.
I have used the rating a few times in the past but only if it was genuinely bad spelling. I understand that most people don't speak English as their first language and can struggle with spelling. I learn Spanish and French (before I dropped it for GCSE) so I know how hard it can be. However I do use the 'bad spelling' rating for those that I know have English as their first language.
I know that it may seem harsh but I do get frustrated when people cannot seem to use the correct spelling or grammar.
The rating has been used incorrectly before though... I seem to remember someone getting a 'bad spelling' rating because they said 'colour' instead of 'color'. Colour is the British version and Color is the American version. This goes for 'Mum/mom' and 'favourite/favorite' as well as other ones.
My point is that I reckon that people should be allowed to relax on this forums but I don't see any harm in keeping it. If this rating is abused though then I would like it removed but for now, if it helps people then all is good.

 

If I'm correct it counts as a netrual rating, so it's nothing too bad if they do feel that your spelling is worse than they assume up to par, this rating is more used on the more popular players/mods :/

Sorry if I am taking this too seriously or rudely but...
I don't think you should mess around with that rating. It is what Julian is trying to point out, that we should not be abusing the rating. Yeah I know that it's just a bit of fun, but on Julian's profile, there will be another bad spelling rating and people may think he is a bad speller.

/support. I do see no point in the bad spelling rating but annoyance. I think it would be cool to change it into an entirely new rating. P

I only use it when I see a player spelling badly on purpose, and I don't see anything wrong with this.

 

I'd say Bad spelling is one of my favorite ratings, out of all. Why? Even though I only received it once, I feel that, when people give it to me, they show me that they care about me, and want my spelling to be better. I don't see it being removed, really, because it's just a constructive rating, and I really don't see why it bothers you so much. It's just a neutral rating, after all.

 

To make myself clear, On this thread ive gotten 6 bad spelling rating, and Ive no idea what those mistakes are.... so whats the point of them being there? Yea I know I have spelling mistakes but if I dont know what they are there is no point.... and just to make myself clear I dont care if its neutral or negative, even if it was a positive rating , I think its usless and it doesnt help anyone.

I don't people should be dishing out these bad spelling ratings to you in this thread. It's just a couple of mistakes and typos. No need for 6 people give bad spelling ratings!
A couple of the people that have given you that rating has pretty poor spelling themselves so...
I don't think it should be removed but it should not really be abused.

 

I've removed the bad spelling ratings from the post. If he's suggesting the rating be removed doesn't mean you go ahead and rate abuse his post. Not everyone has the best English spelling, maybe because it's not their first language. Don't do this again.

 

It's a neutral, does it really matter that much?

 

Support, some people get tortured by this rating...
