I love Noobcrew's servers, and it's my money so I can spend $400 on .Net if I want to. Oh and I've never heard of the ALS Foundation and have no clue what the hell this ice bucket challenge thing is. Don't tell me that I'm a bad person; I already know that and don't need to be told.

I have never and probably will never donate to a Minecraft server. I have the funds to buy the top rank on every crew server, but my parents just won't let me. They let me donate all I want to charities and that kind of thing.

On Facebook my dad showed me and there was a video of a dad doing the ice bucket challenge because he had lost a loved one to ALS and my family has donated about 100 dollars its good to donate but you don't have to kids do the IBC because there to young to donate they do the IBC because they support.
You donate have to donate and that dosent make you a bad person.
Dont hate me this is just my opinion like many others.
    Thank you.

Well, the first part of my rant was simply making the point that you should donate to the charity that needs it most and that would affect the most people rather than what's trending so that you can look good.

Moving on, don't try to make me look like such a heartless person. I have donated all of my old toys to charity, and I would donate more money to charity if I didn't have to go through my parents every time. I will donate to charity on my OWN time and not because some person on a forum told me I was selfish. I have the right to spend my money as I please, so don't make me look so heartless for donating to a minecraft server. Don't act like if you didn't donate to a minecraft server, you would have donated the money to charity, because that's just not true. You'd have spent it on a new toy or videogame or something of the likes.

Charity has a place in where you spend your money, but just because you don't donate everything you own to charity doesn't mean you're a bad person. Come on, guys, it's common sense.

People earn their own money and have the right to do whatever they want with it.

I'm not required to be bothered by these trends. Therefore, I'll use my money as I see fit. To try and tell people they are better off spending their money on something other than a game or some other thing they want is ignorant in itself. For most, the money they have is money they worked for and earned. To look at those people and say "Shame on you not using that money on something other than yourself even though you clearly worked for it," is just stupid. I am in no way obligated to use my money for someone else unless I choose to do so. Additionally calling the people who donate, or use their money on something for themselves, inconsiderate is probably you being just as inconsiderate as you are trying to make them out to be. Its not your job to look at someone, tell them off for using something that is their's for themselves, and then act all saintly after.

Okay so this is going to come from me, someone who has lost several members of my family to Motor Neurone Disease or ALS (what it's called in the United States)

I have lost recently my great uncle who was only about 55 to MNS and it was one of the most horrible things I had ever heard. His wife had died just 1 year before his passing and it was because she did nothing but look after him. She worked and worked but no matter how ill and tired she was, she carried on caring for him. This lead her to be so overworked she passed away.
I have wondered for a while whether or not to post this but I think I should, for MNS.

I have also lost my grandfather to MNS when I was just 3 years old. My family has had MNS passed down somehow in our genes which has caused many family members to suffer. I know that my dad may get it one day, I may get it one day.

But I see my friends, people on the internet and others messing around with ice buckets. I am 100% grateful for those that have donated but I have gotten quite annoyed at those that did it for a few likes on Facebook or a few more followers on twitter and Instagram. This is no longer a challenge set to raise money for a good cause, it has turned into something to get a laugh.

Some may say that I am overreacting but this is how I feel. I recently asked someone from my school about the ice bucket challenge and he only mentioned how cold and funny it was. When I asked why he did it, he said it was because someone told him to. He didn't even know what it was for which made me sit and think.

Now I don't really have much of an opinion on donating to a server but I have earned my donor ship myself. Yes it would be nice if everyone could donate to charity but in reality, only a few will.

All I want from you after reading this is to remember that MNS is a real disease. It causes people to suffer so much. Trust me I've seen my great uncle go through it for about 10 years which is extraordinary for someone with MNS to survive for. But it also caused his wife to pass away due to her amazing willingness to care and nurture my great uncle. It is possible that I will get it one day, I hope that a cure will be in place for that day but I guess not enough people know about the disease yet. This ice bucket challenge has definitely helped but this has is not the end for MNS.
We still have a lot to do.

Is it because people like me love the server so much. I donated because I never want the server to end :>

It's not fair to judge someone on how they spend money. What if I donate to Skyblock but I spend 3hrs a week volunteering at a homeless clinic? I that's probably more benefit there to people who actually need it. Or maybe I donate blood monthly. Those things actually save lives in a tangible way.

Donating money is really not a good way to go about helping or making a real difference. I might get flak for the but sometimes it seems to be that people donate because 1) They are lazy to actually get out of the house 2) they want the cheap quick feel good thrill without expending much effort 3) it's tax deductible

Especially donating to charities. A good portion of the money that goes to charities actually gets spent on non charity stuff Eg. Paying the staff that work at the charity. I was shocked to discover that 50% of the money donated to World Vision went to running costs.

And quite frankly, if you really wanted to help in a tangible way, donate blood or food or something that has to be completely channelled into helping people. Don't put money into something that will largely be spent on people who don't actually need the donations.
