    Look everyone,

I don't have any care for pleasantries at this moment. I see lots of people making threads about asking people to spend money for them to have in game perks. Quite frankly, I am sick of it. You people *should* know that games aren't everything, yet I see people spend $250 to $400 on this server. Look, no server should be paid that much, don't matter who's server it is or how rich you are. Stop thinking about your own benefits and start thinking about others. Donate to the ALS foundation, give homeless people food or some money to survive. Care for real people, not ask people for money to have some *nifty* in game perks. Who cares if you can fly or be invincible or if you are rich in diamonds. While you are paying real money for that, real people are contracting diseases, dying, living on the streets and can't look after themselves. Don't pay for fake things, give real people a chance and make someones day

    #ALSIceBucketChallenge
    #GiveHomelessAChance
    #ACentCanChangeSomeone'sLife

So, before you donate so much money, care for someone who really needs it, not for your own personal benefits.

I don't care if I come in rude, I am appalled at what is happening, and people just brush it off.

Oh, and don't call me a hypocrite for buying a $100 donor for myself, I have donated hundreds to the ALS and even more to random homeless I see.

    I care, do you?

I do agree that it's sad, but most people that can afford it are because they earned the money themselves. Some may be kids, and use their parents money, but it's the parents fault for spoiling their kids. [Guess I'm classified as a spoiled rich kid now...]
Most always think that all homeless people are drug/alcohol addicts, and business owners don't allow them to work. Once the stereotypical homeless vision is removed, more homeless people can apply for jobs knowing that they at least have a better chance than before.

Also, in this thread you're basically saying that people aren't allowed to splurge on things that are enjoyable. That's like saying that no one should buy any snacks, or go on vacations ever, but instead donate all excess money to charity. That would be nice, but very unlikely. You could say almost everything is unnecessary. Such as computers, phones, designer clothes, any toys, anything besides the basic necessities such as water, basic food, and shelter. I see what you mean, and that you mean well, but I don't agree with everything. I agree that people should pay more attention to charities, and raising awareness about homeless people, but I don't think this is particularly the best place to put that. Most here, including me, don't have much power to do that, considering their parents control the money, and where/how it is spent. It's great that you care though, this is just my opinion

Although i bought 50 donorship, i worked really hard for it. My parents would have never bought it for me :) The prices are extreme, and im sure the Admins could give at LEAST half the income of Skyblock to Charities. Then, the server would have a good purpose associated with it :)

I agree with you here. I, on any basis am not saying don't donate, but when you donate large sums like that, (especially if you are a kid using parents money) think about maybe only spending say 25-100 dollars and spend the rest on charities etc. Your opinion is great, thanks for sharing. And about businesses not hiring homeless, some are not even allowed the doll (australian~ people who are old enough that can't/don't work, get government support, but they have to search for jobs if they can work).

good for you mate. Your contributions are well respected and thanked. *highfive*
But, it is not bad to donate maybe a little. The owners of the server needs to pay per month to keep the server hosted. Without donations, they will either have to pay from their own money for other people to enjoy, or get the server shut down.

Good for you to donate that much for a worthy cause, but also think about the people who pay for your enjoyment

Honestly , people do the ice bucket challenge as a joke and don't donate. It makes me sick! Why are you even doing this if you aren't helping the people who you put water on your head for? It just goes to show how inconsiderate people are. Smh thanks for making this thread. I announced this publicy in the chat to see if anyone noticed. Hopefully people will see the real to do the ice bucket challenge

I said it before, and I'll say it again.
It's sad that it has to become a trend, for people to donate.

    Nice thread.
I donated to the server with my own, earned money, for some enjoyment. I don't think that is bad.

However, my family donates to these kind of things often.

What Im about to say is probably going to change whatever view you have on me but at this point I am very, very annoyed.
What people do with their money is up to them. Whether they help people through charity or buy skygod. That does not mean that they are inconsiderate if they chose to donate to the server instead of a charity. It doesn't not make a person any nicer or kinder if they donate to charity.
See this is the problem. It is not exactly showing goodness by judging people on what they buy.

So the purpose of this thread is to tell people to not be worried about getting donor? or is it to condemn those who probably got money from their parents or worked for their money and decided to spend it on leisure.

I would happily spare change, I would donate to causes I fee passionate about. But I will not ever judge someone who does not donate to charity. And that is not me just saying that. When I was about 9 our family, we had very little money. My mum lost her job, my dad lost his. It was Christmas time approaching and we had barely any money for food. A charity organisation heard what was going on from one of our family friends and brought school supplies, presents (a teddy bear I still have today), and a food hamper that would see us to next pay. People donated things for us. Those who didnt, we cant say we hate them. We cant be jealous because they probably had a full table of food with presents waiting for their kids. NO. that is not how it works.

I find bragging about the things you have done is the most frustrating thing. "Oh I did the IBC, I donated this much to this fund". Well good for you. But no one needs to hear it. "When you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing" Helping is something you do in private. I don't need to say some of the things i've done for charities, I just do it because I care.

Remember a small contribution helps. You go to the shops and see a collection jar, drop your change in. You have donated, feel good. Selfless acts do not just involve money. Giving away old clothes, toys, books, technology and more helps others as well.
So instead of claiming people are inconsiderate for the choices they make, why not tell people the ways they can get involved in charities, and ways they can help. Why not tell people the importance of living within your means.
    tl;dr?
Donate money to charity if you can. Donate items and food to charity if you can. Donate to keep this server running if you can. But do not let others make you feel bad for the way you spend your money. But always live within your means. Do not complain about wanting more things. In a way there are people watching others having a fancy meal wishing they didn't have to rely on soup and bread. So be gracious.

I see what Krissy is getting at but skygod is a lot of money, unless your rich. It would take me 4 months to earn that type of money! I try to donate all I can to my local charity.

You don't need to help in the form of money, you can help in various other ways. Every week, I teach needy children how to read, at our public library for about 6 hours each week. No, that doesn't give them a meal. But, it gives them a future... If they can read, maybe when they are older they can become a secretary... A teacher... A lawyer. Plenty of people have risen from the "dust" to have solid, enjoyable, careers.

Think twice on how you help the homeless, the disabled, the starving.

I agree that donating 400$ is a little too much, but people do whatever they want with their irl money, and I don't think we should get into other people's bussiness.

You could have donated those $100 you spent on this server to another charity! You're a terrible person! How dare you spend anything on yourself!

That's basically what you're saying. I did the Ice Bucket Challenge and donated $10, but it doesn't directly affect me. Honestly, I don't personally know a single person that has ALS. It's only popular because of this challenge and pretty much the only person I know of that has it is Stephen Hawking. In the US every year, only 5,600 people are diagnosed with ALS. To put that into perspective, about 8,337,000 people live in NYC alone. In comparison, a man's probability of getting any type of cancer at some point in his lifetime is 44% and for a woman it is 38%. This is a MAJOR difference. I honestly don't know why ALS is getting such hype, maybe because people have forgotten the numbers? Cancer is a much more important disease and affects a lot more of the population. Think of how many people you know that have ALS. Now think of how many people you know that have had some type of cancer. Odds are that the latter will be much greater. More people are affected by cancer and the money donated to cancer research should reflect it.

    /endIBCrant

Now, back to what I originally said, people are free to spend money wherever they want. For me personally, I have donated $125 to Noobcrew's servers. Now, if I had spent that money on tangible video games, it'd just barely buy me two. That would last me, what, a few months? Noobcrew's servers have kept me occupied for 2 years. I'd say it was money well spent. By not wasting my money on buying the next hot game that came out and sticking to minecraft, I actually SAVED money, giving me more money to donate to charity.

Plus, since when was a person NOT allowed to spend money on themselves? You earned your money, you decide what to do with it. Yes, there are diseases out there and you donate as much as you can comfortably donate, but if it's a choice between donating and spending a nice weekend with my friends, who are YOU to say I shouldn't enjoy myself this weekend?
