I'm considering paying a lot of diamonds and grass to have someone upgrade me from $50 to $100 donor. Can anyone see a way to avoid potential charge back issues. The only way I can see is to have the buyer pay me $50 so I can do the upgrade myself but I'm not sure if this is permitted. I'm hesitant to hand over all the items only to find myself banned.
An alternative is to get a mod to watch over and middle-man the upgrade themselves, but that'd have to be approved. Another way is to have them purchase a pre-paid visa or some other pre-paid debit to buy it yourself with.
I've been upgraded this way before and use a mod to hold the items in the interim, but I believe charge backs can take place well after this. And I'm not sure if I'm allowed to accept cash or credit for in game items.
I didn't mean them come to look at you trade, I meant them taking the money and purchasing it using their own paypal. As for the card, if approved, you'd be allowed to do it either way, as long as the money 100% goes to the server.
I would imagine the mod is then at risk of being charged back themselves, i.e buyer pays mod, mod upgrades me, buyer charges back, paypal ask the mod for the money! The second method seems the way to go, will have to wait and hear back from a mod/staff to see if it is permitted. I suppose as an added security method, I could mention that if the buyer charges back then I will kindly upgrade them and then charge back as well, having them banned. Then they know they have nothing to gain from the items that i pay.
I wouldn't recommend your little fail-safe, as it costs Crew money. As for the mod, they can make a second paypal. Lmao.
It wouldn't really cost the crew as they are only selling virtual items. but far from ideal all the same. I can't see any mod going to that effort although it would mean money for the crew? Any mods happy to do this? If so I'll start a thread and with some luck make another $50 for the server.
