Many people log .net via Minechat.
I realize there is a notification that tells other players when someone connects with Minechat.

My suggestion:
It would be cool if there were a prefix to indicate if someone is in Minechat:
[Donor] Megadorkvikki would turn into [Donor] [MC] Megadorkvikki

I think this would be especially helpful to Mods and Skygods when they log into Minechat. They are bombarded with messages/requests.

So they don't have to type "I'm in Minechat" repeatedly.

I realize that the programming may be complex, so I have another suggestion.

My other suggestion:
Require that mods change their nick while in Minechat.
For example:
[Mod] Jenny would turn into [Mod] Jenny_MC

What do you think?

 

Support, but like I said in TS, you wouldn't be able to do it so that you could get a Prefix if you log in with MineChat, unless you make a new plugin, but you may need some of the MineCHat code.. e.t.c
But I completely support them having there nick as something else.

Won't be able to make the prefix [MC] but it would be useful if mods changed their nicks to that ;p

Unfortunately its not possible to hook into Minechat to change a players nick or add a prefix for them as Minechat is just a chat protocol, basically its like logging into the server but you cant move and can only chat.

I guess I could make a plugin to wait for players to log in and if there first message is the one displayed by minechat then I could change their prefix based on that. But then the only issue is players saying that same sentence and having their prefix changed until they log out.

 

donor50+ can do /nick, which is what I do when I'm on Minechat.
But it would be useful to differentiate people who were on Minechat and those who weren't, but as Geekxboy pointed out, Minechat is programmed to pretend to be a Minecraft client and detecting the difference isn't easy.
