I started out as an extremely shy and anxious kid. For the longest time, I couldn't pursue any of my wildest dreams - let alone the easiest ones - because I was too scared. But after what felt like forever, I learned that sometimes, you just have to go for whatever it is that you want.

I remember people always telling me how to face fear. Advice on facing fear is usually bulls***, especially when a naturally social person is trying to help someone who suffers from massive anxiety.

But after years of not facing my fears - not talking to any girls because I was shy, even though I definitely had crushes in school; staying inside because I was too self conscious; tons of other things... - I finally had enough.

Basically, I realized that sometimes you just gotta say "SCREW EVERYTHING, I'm just gonna go for it". Because the only thing you have to lose, is the opportunity right then to do what you want.

Maybe you've been reading that IRL Pics thread for a while now, and you feel a strange tension. This could be the time when you just throw off the chains (first metaphor in a while, lol) and put your face up there. That's just my example related to this server in particular.

I hope this message reaches the hearts of at least a few people, because I know that a very big reason for online gaming is social anxiety.

If you happen to have a crush on someone: f*** everything else and ask them out. Don't be expecting success or expecting failure ... but be expecting to get it over with. You just move onto the next experience like everything else in life. Oh, and if it happens to be a success, then a lot of happiness for the first few months known as the honeymoon period when you're all infatuated and stuff.
