You have /nick, so you could change the colour yourself.

Was it supposed to change automatically? I'm assuming this is on .net, so I'm not really sure what happens when you donate there.

The reason it's white is because if the name tag above your head was coloured it would add &6 or &b whatever the colour is, if this was added to the name above your head it would meant that your skin would not show because the name would miss some characters meaning the skin could not be found under the username above the head.

I think what he's saying is that the default text colour is white. Because of your rank, it should be coloured, but if the system coloured it, part of your name wouldn't be recognized.

The part about the skin is just that if it wasn't registering your full name, it wouldn't be able to find your skin, so it would show up as Steve. Changing your skin wouldn't affect the name though.

So basically, it's not coloured because your in game name is too long.

No, if we added the colour to your name tag, it would be too long making your skin go to Steve

So to wrap this up, your tag is white as to add colour, the extra 2 characters to create the colour, will force you to have a tag which has too many charaters, cutting out the end letter or letters in you name. You name will then not be recognised by minecraft or how ever skin is added and you will have a steve, default skin.
