I've seen this way too much lately in my opinion:

So let's say you have a decent mod application that is getting some recognition. Then a forums user says "Wow, I really think you should get mod right away!"

Then you reply with either: "No, there are much better applicants then me" or "Other people deserve this much more than I do".

I realize you are trying to be nice, but let's be honest, you would much rather be mod before these people.

This. I'm getting sick of people putting on a fake act just to be recognized. It's ridiculous.

Does it really matter... Like really it's just to be polite instead of coming across as arrogant. Some people genuinely think of others and don't like it when people make a fuss over them. Modesty can make some people annoyed, but in the end, again, what does it matter

It's being humble about it. Although you definitely want to be mod more than those people and feel like you really deserve it, being arrogant and saying, well thanks I know I will get mod really doesn't sound polite. I guess you can just saw something like aww thanks but really its nice to say that.

    Everyone has different situations.

When I applied, I genuinely didn't think I would get tmod. :p I felt it as a reality check for myself to remind those that claimed I "Would be a mod", that there were a lot of other great candidates and that the world would not end if I didn't get mod. XD I would have been more then happy for anyone that had been promoted before me, especially since I was pretty nervous about the whole thing. ;)

Of course I was happy when I was promoted, and also in a bit of shock. XD But, it doesn't mean that I wasn't genuine in telling people that there were other great candidates, and that I was never guaranteed to be mod. :p

People don't just go "Oh hey you need mod nao" for no reason, if they say it... They obviously mean it.

Anyway, the moderators that are picked would have to be humble to be a nice, friendly and helpful player.

As we're talking about moderator applications I notice no one has bothered reading this thread here.

When I promote new moderators, I don't just read the app, I also read the replies and I always see comments "Support" or "No support" at least write a small paragraph why you're supporting the application or not.

I don't consider "support" as a support as it means nothing.

I also notice people are saying "Add more details & color" honestly, it's there app, they can write what they want.

"Add more colors and i'll support" Yea.. no. Color means nothing, it just makes the app look nicer that is all, it doesn't raise or lower your chances.

Thanks Cyp. I actually have read that thread, many times, and I base my applicant judging off that.
As far as the original question here goes, I don't say "Yes, you're right, I am totally qualified for mod, and deserve it."
    That is arrogant.
I also don't say "No, I'll never get it, you deserve it more"
If I didn't think I had a chance, I wouldn't have made an application in the first place.
If someone says they support me, I thank them.
If someone says "You NEED to get mod NOW", I thank them and tell them it's up to the admins.

I think that too much attention is drawn to colors and minor assets of applications, and less is drawn to help in game. I'm sure many of you know the annoyance of helping people for hours, and receiving a no support as your application was not colorful. Making a difference in game actually helps, adding color to applications does not.

    ^this.

People always say add more detail now and quite frankly it is really annoying. You don't need to explain how to use every plugin and command and your whole skyblock story. Not only does it make it repetitive but it makes people not want to read it and not provide input. Make it lengthy and informative but don't provide useless information.

As for coloring your application, the only time I would say to change colors/style is if it's all one color or a bright color.

One thing I find extremely annoying about mod applications is people replying to it saying "Add more colors", "Change the colors, it's too bright" It doesn't make a difference what color it is. Is that such a hard concept to grasp?
