I believe that a major problem of .net is scamming/looting.

I think that we can fix this problem by creating a command-- something like /trade.

I know that chests are a good way to trade because mods can check them but for non-donors its hard to get to a place with a chest (other than sky base) and for everyone its difficult not to get scammed.

Maybe we should create a command like-- /trade <playername> <amount> for <amount>.

Something like that^^ I haven't really thought of something in depth but i believe you get the idea. On .org server, scamming is a small problem because auctions automatically trade whatever you agreed to trade. So the conversation COULD go something like this.

MCman- /trade MinecraftPlayer123 3 diamonds for 1 mob spawner
MinecraftPlayer123 /trade accept
<Broadcast to the 2 players> Hold items and trade in 3-2-1.
<Broadcast to the 2 players> Trade complete

Something like that, if anyone can think of anything else following the same principles just comment below.

Ok i have also seen this command on another server except its just /trade (player name without the brackets) your screen will then show up with a echest format and you put the items you want to trade in it will be split there will be a confirm button as well to confirm your trade which would probs be a coloured wool block and then you trade so ya basically you get an echest format on your screen split in half one half for one player put items you want to trade and click a special button to confirm trade and you receive items ill show ya a picture of it when I get on my com but support it would help a lot of skyblockers!!!

Great idea! Scamming is a huge problem on .NET and this would resolve it for people who actually would use the command. There could be a sign at spawn for it because if it suddenly comes along, I doubt that many people would know (unless there was a broadcast or something). .I'm pretty sure if push comes to shove a lot of players won't know about it - and trade with the risk of being scammed meanwhile the people who do use the command can trade safely. This will no doubt half the reports of scamming.

In the mean time, maybe we could actually fix Skybase and make some proper trading rooms like there used to be. I'd be more than willing to do it, I'd even use my own resources if you don't want to give me creative for a few hours.

Bugs in these plug-ins may cause duplication which will partially ruin the economy instead of helping it until the exploit is found. 20% support on this, the plug-in will have to be tested thoroughly to find bugs/exploits. Also, I don't see how this would stop scamming. Scammers could just put the real item in such as a diamond, and for 20 Grass let's say Then quickly switch it to cobblestone. Also, there would be spammers that would spam you with trade requests. Sorry on being so pessimistic on this suggestion.

 

I agree that scamming is a HUGE problem in .net, but trading rooms would be good to. I like the /trade (player name) id be willing to help in any way possible. Let me know please if they decided to do this. #noscamming

As I have said it's a perfect idea but as posted by others, we will need to test it vigorously to make sure that it won't bug and give someone say 2 diamonds instead of one because that would start ruining the economy because it gives people extras that they shouldn't be getting for free. If it goes smoothly it will be one of the biggest problem solvers for skyblock.net, maybe .org and hellblock in the future. Ahhh, I can already see the chat free of "MOD HELP! I'VE BEEN SCAMMED! (caps protect)". I really hate caps protect.
