Your in-game name: _Woozle_ Which timezone are you in? Pacific Time (-8) Which languages do you speak? English and some very rudimentary Spanish. Have you ever been banned? (if yes, why?) Nope, not once, nor kicked for that matter. Why do you think you should be a mod? I really enjoy contributing to the server and helping to keep it running smoothly by solving problems for people. I also just really get a kick out of helping people. I've been a mod and admin on several other servers, so seeing problems arise that I can't really do anything about bugs me a bit. I would like to be a mod so that I can step up and fix these issues as they arise. I have been here for over a year, so I believe that also shows a certain level of commitment to the server and the community. Aside from that, I think there is a big need for more mods right now. For at least the past 2 weeks, nearly every single time I have gotten online to play at night, there has been a problem that only a mod could fix, however no mods were online, nor did one ever come online. It has ranged from spamming, to advertising and foul language, to griefing, hacking, and other similar issues. Tonight so far, there have been three different people coming in and spamming advertisements for other servers, multiple people using inappropriate language, and multiple griefs that needed fixing. Unfortunately, no mods were around so this went on un-checked and became annoying to the point that I left for the night along with several other players. I am usually on between about 10pm and 2am pacific time, and usually there are no moderators online during that time. Since I seem to find myself online so often when no mods are online, I think that would in part make me a good candidate for a mod position. How long can you be active on the server every day? 1-4 hours depending on the day. I have 2 jobs and a full time school schedule on the side, but enjoy spending my time playing on the .net server when I've got time to relax a bit. Do you have any past experience as a moderator? Yes, just not on this server. I have past experience as a moderator and admin on several survival based servers, with a little bit of skyblock thrown in there. The server that I was an admin on only averaged about 25 throughout the day, but one of the ones I was a mod on averaged about 120 through all hours. While 120 isn't close to 500, it was a fairly large player base so I believe much of that experience would carry over here. I enjoy the large servers and tend to gravitate towards them. I'm familiar with logblock, worldedit, lockette, and a bunch of other plugins that are not used on this server. A Couple Of Notes First, you won't find me trying to moderate people's chat in-game. People seem to think that this is a way of being helpful and that it is a good way or showing that you are trying to step up and help the server. I don't mean to rub anyone the wrong way, but I believe that it accomplishes the exact opposite. If I were to call people out in chat and ask/tell them not to do things, it just adds to the spam and usually results in their actions increasing and the whole situation becoming even less pleasant. Making people aware of the rules is one thing, but trying to control their behavior when you don't have any capability of actually doing so doesn't help anyone, and only makes the situation worse. Also, you probably won't see me answer questions people ask in the main chat. I do on occasion, but most of the time I like to message that person directly. I think it's more personable, and it makes it more likely that they will actually see the the answer they are looking for due to the addition of the arrow and colors in a private message. I do this very often, it's just not seen by everyone and their mother, and in my mind, that is ok. A Bit About Me I'm a senior in college, studying advertising with minors in business and digital arts at the University of Oregon. I'm also starting a brewery here in town which should be taking off by the end of this summer. I specialize in making hard ciders but I've also tried my hand at some IPAs, Hefeweizens, and Tepache. I enjoy off-roading in my Jeep Wrangler at every opportunity. I also help people in real life, not just Minecraft. I am part of Search and Rescue through the Sheriff's office, both the Special Vehicles Group (SVG) and the Ground Search and Rescue (GSAR) team, and spend quite a bit of time outdoors looking for lost people. I'm generally more quiet on the server, spending my time messaging people directly and working on my island. For that reason, I feel like I might get passed over for a position as a moderator since it seems that in general, only those who are popular and known by absolutely everybody get the positions. I still figured I'd give it a shot, so here goes. I'm looking forward to the opportunity to take on a larger role here on the server if ya'll would have me. Here's some color for all of you who like to see color in applications. =D Thanks for your time, -Woozle
Hey all, I'm hoping for a little feedback here. If yall could help me out with that, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
I support this. He knows what he is doing. I can see that you are extremely mature and although I have never seen you in-game your application stands out to me.
Thanks! I appreciate the support! =) I've not been on .org in a while, it's just a little slow for me without all of the chatter.
Support, after reading a few of your posts I see that you are well mannered, spoken and a nice person. I feel you would be a great Mod. Hopefully I'll get to see more of you Ingame!
This thread can be locked. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem that I have the support of the community since I tend to be a quieter player. As I kinda expected, it seems that played against me here. Along with that, I just don't want to be kept dangling here, with no response or decision about my application, hoping for months on end to get a position as a moderator. It's just not worth the energy that takes, to check here daily, and I've got other things I can spend that time doing. Thanks.
