Im going to tell you that I just love technology, I love all the different operating systems ive uses from mac to windows, and a little bit of Linux and you get the picture. Now to say that windows 8 is not good, is a load of rubbish. All operating systems have flaws. Whether or not you see them or not is another thing. Windows 8 was never confusing to me. In fact while everyone said it is better with touch screen, I disagree. with a mouse its much better. I love my windows 8 laptop. Its over a year old now, it loads up just as fast as when i got it, and that takes 10 sec, and its a budget laptop. I have never had an issue with minecraft at all. It was my internet connect causing all my problems. If you have windows 8, the upgrade to 8.1 would be worth it. If you have windows 7 dont upgrade, windows 7 is still good. Thats all I will say. Either operating systems you cant go wrong, but now, you are going to find it hard to find a model without windows 8, just perform a downgrade if windows 8 is not for you. I cannot stand this "i hate windows 8", "i hate apple" etc. We all have our preference, but unless you have solid evidence to back claims, its advised not to warn people away from a decent operating system.
I use windowes 8 and it is WAY better than windows 7 or vista or even mac dare I say it. You swipe to log in, no more Ctrl+Alt+Delete. The start feature is better than just normal windows as you can add or delete things on the main for quick use, also the use of windows store. For the more sneaky people, you can put google chrome in windows 8 mode, which is quicker to swipe away so no one catched what you are doing on there . The system itself is very organised and faster than most desktops. Overall, way better and very good
Windows 8 is no faster than 7 or Vista. The OS has nothing to do with performance/speed, that's computer specs. Windows 8 was a failure, but 8.1 is 20x better, but Windows 7 is just more compatible at the moment. That and Windows 8 was made for tablets and converted to PC.
Went from windows 7 to 8.1 2 months ago, Best decision I ever made. True that I have Linux in a dual boot that I use for when I play CPU hungry games and when I edit stuff it is awesome. I might get a Mac someday but from the ones I used back in college I really don't like Macs it feels like a pure editing machine, It wasn't good for gaming and I don't fancy spending that much on a GPU upgrade because I seen the prices and the card is literally quarter the size of one hooked up to my pc. But I like the keyboard...
I think that's just you. I play off a laptop (Lenovo G505) not made for Minecraft on Windows 8 and it works absoluetly phenomenally even on servers that lag a bit on my desktop computer.
I had Windows Home Premium and Minecraft was rubbish. I got Windows 8.1 and Minecraft was so much better.
