Recently, a group of users/spambots have been trying to steal Minecraft accounts. One of these users, it might even be a donor, will message you a link about Minecon capes. DO NOT CLICK THIS LINK. If you input your password, you will lose control of your account. This has happened to a few people so far. Here is what the message will look like. Be careful.
I got something like this. Someone kept msging me click this! and when I ignored them and told them, they switched to another person
That would be technically impossible as there are several links, unless you pwnfilter the acutal main site. Anyway, I don't think that they are spambots as one of these people asked me to do this, and were actually talking to me, nothing that could of been implimented to a bot to say, but an actual convo, So some might be bots, and some might be actual people doing the same thing. Also, if someone says something like this. Tell them you did it, then they might say that they got the cape. Ask to tp to them so you can see the cape. If they don't accept, its a scam, which it is. REPORT: Ban this person for doing it.
Maybe we should add a short message to the server broadcast saying "Do not click on links sent by anyone you do not trust" It should be common sense but I feel like we should exercise every precaution here.
I have received that message before, I told him to [Insert Swear Word Here]. Coz he just wouldn't stop spamming it
Alright, but it isn't really hacking if they willingly give up their Minecraft passwords, it's more like using given information for the wrong purpose
Nice catches! Please continue to screenshot and notify staff when you see this happen so we can ban those accounts Thanks for your help! MeWoody that means you
Basic phishing site. Don't input your info into a fake site, basically is my advice -- whether they claim to give you free stuff or not, if they are trying to imitate minecraft.net something is up instantly. The only thing on the webpage they changed was adding the text saying to refer and the login link.
