For all the players of skyblock.net, you obviously have seen a mystery trade, but the question is, are they fair.

Heres why I suggest the removal of Mystery Trades, Today, poor CWolfee007 was ripped off in a Mystery Trade, bidding 32 diamonds for a Horse Egg (Mystery Item). My Response is, I believe these "Mystery Auctions/Trades" Are Scamming lots of people, the Player doesn't know the item, so there thinking it could be a Bunny Head, or anything, you don't know, and the Player Who is hosting this trade can change this whenever they want, saying they could say "Theres a 99% Chance this is a super rare item!" So everyone will bid high, but when they get so much, they can just change the bid to 1 Cobblestone, is that fair? No it isn't it's baiscally scamming as the item is anonymus, and your gaining more stuff because your tricking/scamming people with this mystery item.

It's for the best, for skyblock trading

    Mystery Items need to go

    ByeBye! :>

As the guy who started these things, the general rule I used when hosting these was that I wasn't allowed to make it anything less than an iron block whether I made money or not. No support.

I usually consider it scamming when people false advertise, but if they legitimately put a head in a dispenser and fill the other 8 with cobble and sell a chance to push the button, then I think that's fair.

I support, the auctions are easy ways to profit off of cheap items.

No support sorry. I believe that as long as no-one auctions useless stuff for high prices everything should be ok.

To be honest, it's up to the bidder if he/she wants to take the risk.

You could always just not bid.

I was the one that sold the 2 Horse Eggs to Cwolf For 25 Diamonds not 32.... (Since he didnt want the Quartz Slab and Horse Eggs are worth 10-15 Diamonds Each Right?)
and People that want to take the risk of the mystery item will take it :D
PS..... The Most Legit Mystery Items are With hints Like : ( Can Only Get From Creative Now) etc.
    ( I Do That if Its Rare :D )

It isn't scamming. By definition, scamming is when you make a trade with someone but do not pay everything you promised. If both parties consent to the trade, it is legitimate. If the bidders agree to pay the high price, its legit and they should be prepared to accept the consequences for the actions they have taken. All of the bidders knew well that they were bidding for something that could be anything. It could be a wooden stick and they know this because it says "mystery". If you aren't willing to take a risk and maybe get a good reward, don't bid. If you bid, you accept the conditions of the trade.

Banning mystery auctions isn't a good step forward. It's pushing the blame to other people, when clearly the bidder made the call to pay whatever they paid. You don't gain anything from blaming other people. In fact banning mystery auctions would be holding other people back, and limiting everyone else's fun just because of your opinion. If you strongly disagree with mystery auctions, don't take place, simple as that. Don't ban something for everyone just because you don't like it. :)

I'm fine with "Mystery Auction!", but when it takes a step toward "99% chance it's a diamond block!" when the seller clearly knows what they're selling, THEN it's false advertising and is illegal, since there is actually no chance involved.

Not a casino. What I meant was people can say "33% chance it's a diamond block" and fill 3 slots with diamond blocks and 6 with cobble. That would be fair, but when they already know what the item is and say there's a "99% chance it's a diamond block!", then it's false advertising.

I don't play net much, but isn't that why it's called a Mystery Auction? You bid whatever to with something thats's a mystery

That's what i was saying. Saying 'Mystery Auction' could theoretically mean any block in the entire game, BUT when people say "99% chance it's a diamond block," they're almost guaranteeing that the mystery item is a diamond block when in actuality only they know that they're selling cobble.

This is almost like a 'legal scamming' scenario, if you bid on a mystery auction you're taking that risk, and you can only rage when you spend a stack of diamonds on a piece of cobblestone.

I think that it should be ILLEGAL because if you win the auction and don't receive the item you thought you were going to get, you would get really annoyed. This case has happened to me before and I was so annoyed that I almost quit. Because of this reason I think it shouldn't be allowed. Therefore, I support Glitch's post. :)
