I'm one of those unlucky people who lives entirely in ocean biomes, so I can't simply drop a monster spawner in the center of a swamp biome and set it to slime.

So, I have an 18x18 platform centered around a supposed slime chunk, with a floor of Y:32. To find the chunk, I plugged the seed "skyblock.net" into ChunkBase's Slime Finder as suggested in this post. I placed the spawner down 1 block above the floor, since Minecraft is cool with that.

Unfortunately, I've still got no slimes coming from my spawner! :(

Does anyone here have experience getting these set up, or advice that might explain where I went wrong?

    :)

    Just google slime chunk locator.
    Use the seed skyblock.net
    Use your island bedrock coords
Find the x and z coords that the slime chunk gives you
    Do a 16x16 area under y=39
    Done.

This is dirty method, I just placed down a spawner and set it slime, and voila. I had managed to find a slime chunk.

Thanks, but that's the process I followed that isn't working for me. I set up a single player world with the same seed and placed a slime spawner at exactly the same location, and it works just fine.

I don't know then. My slime spawner had water near it, try that. Or, try making it nearer void.

Water unfortunately didn't seem to help either. :(

I just so happen to have a 65x65 lattice of cobble at Y:9, so mindsensation was kind enough to scatter slime spawners across it momentarily, but not a single blob of green goo showed its face. :shifty:

The only possibilities I can think of:
    • The seed is not Skyblock.net, Skyblock, or skyblock; and none of my ~36 chunks are slime chunks.
    • The way seeds to are converted to numbers has changed since the world was created.
    • None of the spawners passed the 1/10 chance of spawning during spawn cycles where a valid block had been chosen.
    • Ninjas stole all the slimes faster than they could appear on the screen.
In any event, I'm dead stumped. I guess I'll just save up 29,403 diamonds, buy 9,801 spawners with 'em, and make a big ol' 99x99 platform of slime spawners to see what happens. :t

You need to make sure that you're as low as possible, Y<= 10. But I can confirm that slimes do spawn in Ocean Biomes on slime chunks so long as you are lucky enough to have one. If you don't, then you'll have to keep looking. To my knowledge none of the slime chunk locators work, you'll have to do it the hard way.

I'll lock this as there's no reply from the OP.
