Just a random little thread I thought I'd make...

But these days with goded items, like omg... ._.
I understand that they contain max out enchantments with every enchantment... but wow... I see people trading them all around the place for tons of grass (lol). Honestly, have of the time when I look at the chat I see people trading for god items. Then I see others who want items goded. Usually when I trade god items, I give 'em out by the stacks (as I am a $100 Donor) for at most 1 grass per stack, while other $100 Donors sell them for a little bit more... sometimes a LOT more. I think that god items in .net have kind of taken over a little bit... for some people at least.

What is your opinion / view on god items nowadays?

Well when I made this thread I was kind of talking about some peeps on .net... >->
Not just 'noobs'. Even then, just because someone is a noob at something like Skyblock, doesn't always make them a noob at everything else...

I remember my first god item. Someone accidentally dropped it at /warp animal. I picked it up but had no idea what it was and why a steak was enchanted so I asked my coop leader (who I know in real life) and he tried to take it. I didn't let him. Also, people often think 1-2 god items is worth 1 grass!

I remember getting my first god item. It was a god gold sword... I still have it... When I first received it, I was like, WOW! This must be worth sooo much. I thought I was one of the richest people on the server xD It's actually one of the reasons I chose to stay on this server. I thought I was a rich noob. Hahahahaha.

My opinion in regards to the economic role god items have... There are different levels of currency, if you will. First there are god items. They are worth whatever people are willing to pay for them- In other words, there are probably millions of god items in the skyblock.net economy. But some people who don't know what they are doing think they are worth a lot and therefore pay a lot for them. When I was a noob I sold 1 god stick for 5 diamonds. Lol. The next level of currency is grass, then diamonds and rares, etc. But god items is that first little level. They are worth little, yes - but noobs don't have much to work with :p Those people that offer god items and such for things like fireblocks.. (I've been offered a god sapling  for a Fireblock before)..they probably payed a lot for their god items. The 100$ donors you previously mentioned were probably just taking advantage of these noobs who don't know what they are doing. Or, they could have been people who worked with god items before they became donor, and want to stick with what they've always done- and work with god items.

i think godding should like be restricted because theres sooo many god items out there its ruining the economy of .net. i was selling an enchanting table and a dc of smooth stone and all i got offer was god items. Like ill give a stack of godded beef. come on people i have a dc of god items! and like someone was selling a godded dia pick for 20 grass.

Oh god I remember when I had just joined I paid my first grass block for a god bone. I regret it so much. But since then I've gotten lots from drop parties and cool donors. I don't really see a point in them apart from godded tools and for animal farming.

Anyone know another use for god items?

/warp mob is a good place to use 'em... as weapons of course.
Also try not to lose them when you are there... it can get annoying when that happens.. ;P

I've seen a couple interesting threads and conversations about this issue. Here are my thoughts.
    1) God items should be worthless. I don't dabble in the trade of god items, except tools and armor. There are enough 100 donors and Skygods pumping these things into the economy. They can god for FREE. Therefore, they are making money off a command. There is no cost to make these items, other than the scarcity of Skygods and 100's in relation to the masses of people wanting god items. There are no limits to how many god items could end up in the economy. They are free to make, therefore, they are dropping in value and will eventually be worthless. Also, unless they're tools or armor anyway, they only SHOULD have the value of the item ungodded, since it cost the Skygod/100 donor nothing to god it.

    2) God items are pretty much useless. They don't stack right sometimes, you can't spend god grass. Yes, god tools are great. Yes, god armor helps out. Yes, you can use any god item for mob killing, and they help. But that's all. Overall I think they are a bigger part of the economy then they should be. Remember, there is an unlimited amount out there.

Ok Im going on a rant
At one stage, unless you come onto the server with advanced friends or you knew of the tim the enchanter plugin prior to coming on the server, you would have thought that a minecraft item that couldnt be enchanted suddenly being all shiny with enchants on it was special. I know I did.
Items with all enchants are worth the amount of the item without enchants. That is the logic. Theres nothing special about the enchants. I mostly enchant for aesthetics and not for price. People didnt want godded rares, so they started paying more for ungodded ones. fair enough, that became the only exception to the rule people made apart from diamond tools and armour.
You CANNOT blame kids for trying to get rares with fully enchanted items. You cannot restrict what 100 donors + enchant. I refuse to lose me enchant command because people are sick of newer players thinking they are rare. Its time to take action if you want things to change. Educate the newer players. when they start an island and ask for your help, tell them that people say god items are rare but they are not.
For the most part we can actually show that we are a community that cares and are tolerant of others.
If you dont want to enchant say no. If you dont like their offer say its too low and explain why.
Im sick of people complaining and not doing anything about it. Using common sense and blaming the plugins. If cyp wanted to he could probably remove the enchant all command and keep the enchant part so it takes ages to make god items. But then people will think god items are more rare now that you cannot make them easily.
God items do have a worth...so stop saying they are worthless. As i said before they are worth the item as if they were not godded.
I know i ranted but i still cannot see why things that we were given to enjoy is picked on, and more important things neglected.
    /endrant

now to noahs point, there are kinda more newer player coming on and once they see people be rich, they will try anything to get that rare item. they will assume something that isnt from single player would be rare like enchanted food items :p
I think they find meaning in it a little too much

I didn't quite read ALL of that but I do agree and understand what you have said. Also that is fair enough that other newer players see it that way, at least you have a decent argument... unlike someone who said that they are all noobs... ._.
