A problem I see a lot on here are super short Mod Applications, for all the servers, that leave a LOT of questions unanswered and overall just aren't very nice. So, I have created this thread to help people make their mod application look and sound better, to make their chances better on getting noticed. No I am not saying this will get your application accepted. No I am not saying I am any kind of decision maker in the mod-finding program (I'm not) I'm just putting things I've noticed together in a thread to help people make their mod application look good. So, enough about that. Onwards!

    RULES AND FORMATS
First of all, at each mod application forum section, there are rules and a format. I have them below. Definitely read them and understand them before you begin work on your application.

    DETAILS
Next up, details. First I will show you an example of a bad application as far as details go.

Hi my name is Noob123 and I really really really want to b a mod. I am really helpful and nice and cool and awesome and I want to help people! Please please please read this and make me a mod!!!!

If you put something like this. Eww. Nobody will take you seriously. Really explain why you think you would make a good mod. Add specific instances when you exhibited mod-like behavior. Like saying..."I try to be really helpful when people lose items due to void death or other instances. I ask what they lost, and try to replace it, like once, when I replaced somebody's god stone sword."
This shows people that you actually follow through on all these wonderful things you promise you do. Try to think of every single things you do to make the Skyblock community better, and add it. Try to section things you do into reasons or specific sections, such as Kind, Helpful, Fair, etc. An example of a good SECTION of a detailed mod application would be like this:

Fair- I am a very fair person with a strong feeling of justice. If I were mod I would spend enough time on each conflict between players to make sure the right person got in trouble. I would also try to make sure everybody who needed my help got helped, and the bad people on the server, like the griefers, were banned and taken care of. I have helped resolve conflicts between people before, and made sure things stayed peaceful around the server.

So the more detailed the better! Make people BELIEVE you could make a good mod!

    COLORS

Colors make your application interesting and pleasing to the eye. Try to use colors in moderation though. An example of too much color.

    MY INGAME NAME: Gemmalove

Light colors can also be hard to see on the white background.

Like LOL Who could really read this?
And forget about this! <--Yes there's something written here :p (try highlighting)

And some colors just look BAD together

    These together aren't the best....

So try to think of a color scheme for your application, like Blue for the headings and purple for special text, with the rest black.

    PERSONALITY

You want YOUR application to reflect YOU
Don't try to copy other people's style, and definitely not their application!
Use your favorite colors, add how you talk, and overall just make sure your application reflects what you're like as a player and person. I would never make an application like this:

Hello. I am Gemmalove. I care about the server and the people in it. I would appreciate getting the privilege of mod.

Uhh no. Something more like this.

Hai there :p I'm Gemmalove, Gemmyy, Gemstone, and the list goes on. I love Skyblock, and the amazing friends I've made on it!

That entire thing has so much more energy and personality, and it sounds more..human. (If that makes any sense)

    GRAMMAR AND SPELLING
Grammar and spelling are very important in something like a Mod Application. It shows you are mature and professional, as well as serious about what you are saying. And example of a bad mod application in terms of grammar and spelling as well as length would look something like this:
hi. i like dis srvr alot and i am vry much happy abt being a mod. plz mke me 1 now plz. plz.plz. kthnxbai.

Just don't use any abbreviations. Make it sound like you had the time to type the whole word! Example of PART of a good mod application in terms of grammar and spelling: (The entire application should be longer of course)

Hi! My name is Gemmalove and I love this server! I would be incredibly excited if I were to ever become a mod on this great server. Please consider my application!

If you are unsure about grammar, look it up! Try using a thesaurus to find words that mean the same thing but sound smarter :3 Just spend some time making your application sound nice, and make sense to others!

    BE ACTIVE!

Be active, on both the server, and on the forums! Make friends! People who you help and make friends with are more likely to support you. Also, a mod must always be active on the server and forums, so this is good practice if you do get mod, and also proves you have what it takes to be a mod.

I hope this thread helped someone out there make their mod application better! Once again, this is just things that raise my support on applications and things I've noticed that other people look at! If you have any ideas on what to add on this, feel free to tell me, this thread is a work in progress, almost like my mod app! :t

When typing, look at the top of the text box. There are two A's close to the middle. The one with a gray box underneath is the color changing one. Click it and choose a color!

but if there's alot of colors, the mods who look at it see it as un professional dont they?

Some color is always good, like make the headings one color and then reasons another, like this:

Reasons I should be a Mod
    Trustworthy- frkghkshfksjhfkjahdkjhekfk

Or something along those lines. The trick is to find the perfect balance of color.
So to answer your questions, no, mods do not find color unprofessional, just too much of it is bad for your application. Experiment a bit to find what looks good.

I feel like colors are overrated. As Merks already stated, colors don't make a difference to the overall Mod application. Although, it does look good and could get you more supports, I think that you should concentrate your efforts to other things besides your color. Maybe color could be the finishing touch.
