You said in the beginning of the thread that there were too many inactive mods. The inactive mods are often the older ones, who have important things to do outside of Minecraft. As I understood you in your first post, you wanted the inactive mods to be demoted. That, however, does not work if you also want the staff to be a "team".

If you'd demote all the inactive mods, and still have more than 4 active mods online, you'd have to promote more.
I've expreienced myself that if you promote more moderators, there's going to become a bigger gap between the moderators. I don't know all the new mods that well, neither can I get to know them that well. Promoting more mods often causes division in the team, and if you want the staff to be a real team, you would have to let us get some time to get to know each other better, before demoting the inactive mods and promoting new ones.

I'm a lil' bit confused on what you're trying to tell me here, so I'll try to reply based on how I interpret it. I understand the difference between my time spent compared with others, I believe I mentioned that in my original post. My point was more directed to those time people come on just to reset their /seen timer, something some have already been demoted for. Not saying noone else but me is doing anything valuable, not at all. But those who halfass it, is what I'm trying to get at. Regarding the extra permissions, when I asked for them, from both Crew and Cyp which both gave me it/them, I was in need of them. It was the thing that kept me going for a few extra months before I had to resign. I felt really bad and being able to avoid majority of the stress, it enabled me to do further ingame work than before. So this wasn't a case about me deserving it, it was about me needing it. Whether it's fair or not is up for debate. I can't remember the last time I abused it, if I ever did, and how much productive work I could do in favor of the time I had to spend there. I wasn't the only one with /vanish, either. So this isn't a new thing, not that it makes any matter since this was unrelated. Just throwing that one out there. I understand your point. And you do make a valid point to setting and leaving the ranks as they are. However, as I said, it was a matter of personal needs along with the extra permissions, which I'm unsure of which THOSE are. The rest of your post I get the feeling is directed at Crew? I don't know.

    And hell yeahhh

I feel like this whole thread is another discreet way to get mod. Believe me, I've been there. Since this whole thread is also about inactivity, let me say a few points.
    1) We are not the police. We don't do this as a job, we don't stay on 24/7.
    2) Most mods are American, meaning they get on a certain time of the day that may be different from yours.
    3) We have school. Finals are coming up very soon. School should be focused on more than a server.
    4) Our chat is 3x as fast as yours (We have socialspy). So sometimes, we may not be able to see an advertiser in chat.
    5) I will agree with you on this. Yes, some mods do not deserve to be here (Not pointing fingers at all). Some may be corrupt. Corruption exists everywhere. Wether its the police, the government, or even a school, theres no denying it. We can't always tell who it is.
    6) Sometimes we just need a break. I mean, a cop can't help 400 people at once, right?
    7) Being mod for almost a year now, I have realized that the servers population is mainly composed of 10 year olds. Meaning, we usually get, "HOW DO I MAKE GRASS" "DIAMONDS PLS" "CEN I HAZ ADMIN??" "CAN U SIGN MY WALL??" So it gets harder to help the people who actually need help.
    8) Finally, yes I wish some people were more active, yes I wish I was too. Things get in the way. School, sports, clubs, birthdays, holidays, family, vacation, and even camp. We are not superhumans. We can't be on all the time.

Out of many many people who disagree, I agree. Why? Because as you said there are 43 mods but only a few online. Yeah what you said was right. I only know/see Krissy, iPodcourt, iEnder, Mind and Limescoconutshake online. So it is 5/43 mods who on that I know. I don't even know the others mods. I expect to know/see at least half of the crew. And even whenever I ask a Mod to help me, 3/4 of them never listen to me; only 1/4 help me!

Just because you don't see us as much, doesn't mean we are inactive. We may live in different timezones.

Wow, see what this all escalates into? Honestly this is embarrassing for the Server and it's repute you should all take a good hard look at yourself's and think over what's become of this, although I've only been amongst the Forums for 2 Months now I see the amount of negativity and dis-function it can have when people not only stop the problem but add fuel to the fire (Boast). Just give it up already this is utter trash and a waste of everyone's time.

    ~Sigh.

I have an idea. Get a equal amount of mods for each server from a few timezones which stops people making these threads and moaning.

Please can the negative rating stop. This is pretty serious. The mods have been called out to look at their activity, and for all of you to post your honest observations. You need to remember that we should not be posting comments that attack, or discredit someones opinion, and there is no needs for the rates. Now there are 2 opinion threads for mod activity. This one is getting out of hand where some of you are now making it a point to disagree with the poster.
Now inactivity exists. And it isnt going away. we all know it and cannot deny it. Before I was a mod, even I posted about mod inactivity. There is sometimes very good reasons why mods are inactive. Expect a lack of mods at a certain time of the day due to school and timezones. Expect some delays getting help due to the number of messages mods get, as well as the dear friend social spy. Expect some mods to not come on as much due to playing other servers and expect some mods to be... quite honestly... bored of .net
we all want to be safe, secure, helped and have a good time. And so far, most of the issues get resolved and most of the time its with good result.
So i ask, please keep negative ratings to a minimum, and please, remember to post observations rather than arguments or correcting other peoples opinions to avoid potential bad rating and abuse.
