Title says it all. Hoppers are useful for so many things so why not disable hopper minecart instead of hoppers.

But you can't hopper loot because it need to be attached to the chest and the only way to do this is with the minecart

 

You can hopper loot with hoppers and hopper minecarts.

 

Put a hopper under the chest and you can loot it. I do think that hopper's are very useful for redstone machines and AFK farms and such but hopper looting is too big of a problem.

 

This is like the 5th thread I've seen.

1. It's easier to hopper loot as you don't have to big under the chest
2. Old players such as me have a placed hopper act as a trophy
3. Hoppers are disabled for a reason
4. For redstone mechanics, there's always a burner clock, repeater clock or a piston clock, there's really no need for hopper clocks, you can get the same precise tick with a repeater

 

I just would like to point out the:
1. Automatic farms (including mob loot, egg, and crop farms)
2. My lottery machines ;<
3. Pretty much all safe trade mechanisms

It's not just for timing :L

why do people, use minecraft to do it?

 

There are a few people that have made fixes for Lockette looting with a hopper, haven't tested any personally, but they most likely won't be added to the server because they are not created by Lockette, or another well-trusted source.
Hoppers would be useful, though.

Just saying in the new lockette 1.7.2 you cannot place blocks under someone else chests and if some how you did hoppers wont work on locked containers like chests, trapped chests, furnaces, droppers, ect...

 

Interesting, I thought that Lockette did something for it, but didn't really look into it that much.

 

they did that it there 1.5 something update, it was a while ago. I just downloaded lockette and added it to a testing server and even sine i'm op I cant place hoppers under my alts locked chests. the server is 1.7.9 and using 1.7.2 lockette the most up to date version.

 

woops nvm about hoppers not working on locked chests they still loot items but you cannot place them under chests. ill make a gif of me attempting to do it.

 

In my opinion, just disable everything with "hopper" in the name.

 

Why when there's a simple fix to it.

The issue of hopper griefing has been fixed by Lockette, someone even bothered to post a video on it, but Cyp's reply was "I can't be bothered to watch it".

To prevent hopper griefing: Place an empty, locked chest (or furnace, or any other block) under the chests of value. Boom problem solved.

Seems like the benefits of having hoppers reenabled far outweigh the potential problems. People should be made aware of the workarounds, rather than just focusing on the potential problems. Whenever anyone says "I was looted" on skyblock, the first question is invariably "did you lockette the chest" - We need to build that same culture when it comes to hopper griefing. The first question after "I was hopper looted" should be "did you place a locketted block under the chest?"
