I use item frames in my shop to display my merchandise. This makes my shop more aesthetically pleasing, leading to more sales.

Sometimes, a rebellious customer will knock the item frame down. They often steal the item in the frame.

Item frames are not loggable, like chests. So mods can't track them.

My suggestion:
I found two different solutions.

1. FrameProtect - Bukkit
A plugin so item frames and paintings cannot be knocked down. (Bukkit based)

2. [1.5.1] FrangibleButtons - Minecraft Forum
A way to encase an item frame (or button) in glass. (Forge based)

Completely agree! Having the ability to protect frames would be a fantastic addition to the server.

The second option would not work, as it modifies the existing minecraft code, everyone that would want to play the server would also have to download that mod.

However the first option is a nice suggestion. Support.

Support, I have tons of mourning zones on my island with ghast tear item frames, for some reason, people tend to steal the ghast tear -.-

The other temporary solution is to place the item frame behind a glass block or pane, at least that's loggable if someone were to attempt to break it, but it does consume alot of space
