Watch from beginning to end. The end will get you. I never realized how fortunate I was till I watched this.
Things like this sicken me so much, how people can't even give out a dollar to someone who is less fortunate than them. Like the guy said earlier, you see people with Louis Vuitton and Macy's bags having a great time, but when they see someone who's more unfortunate than them, they don't even bother to care and just ignore. This video really touched me at the end as well, if we had more people that actually would care for each other, it will then start influencing people and make a difference to our people today.
I don't know if you guys realize this, but many of the times it's just a ploy to get money for illegal drugs or alcohol. It's much better to actually go buy them a MEAL than give them money. They can't trade in a pizza for heroin.
Sorry on a different computer that won't let me watch YouTube 0n it but is this the homeless child experiment?
:'( So beautiful... but... ^^ Might as well give them like a whole cooked turkey than a hundred dollars, like what tkjpie said.
I know the guy said that this video could ruin people's perspective, but mine was ruined a long time ago. I must admit that I never give money to people on the street, I'd rather give money to the food bank and the shelters. I do carry granola bars on me though, and I give those out when I see someone with a sign like that. And there have been a few instances where I've bought a quick meal for someone. If you live in the city, it's really easy to get something cheap and easy that lasts, like granola bars and hand them out. When you get gratitude like you do from something as simple as a granola bar, you know how hungry they are.... It's true though, I've never seen anyone under the age of 16 or 17 on the street, I imagine because child services picks them up. I already know what goes on in the world, the part of this that made me cry was that he took his own experiment to heart and he was going to help that guy get his dog back. A little faith in humanity restored right there.
And yes, as tkjpie said, they mostly spend it on drugs. One of my friends family members actually tested once. He pointed at some random guy in the middle of a bunch of homeless people, saying "He has heroin!" All of them ran after him for as long as they could manage. And, I once went to Ireland, where there are loads of homeless people, I gave a homeless person all the money I had left (not too much since I was only 9-10 years old), when I came back he spent it all on cigarettes :/
True. People tend to do that but in this experiment it was a child. He wouldn't be able to buy cigarettes or anything. What are the chances a child would buy drugs?
True, but then comes the doubt wether or not they make an adult or something else buy for them. And I don't think dealers really care who they're selling to.
Well, sometimes you just have to trust humanity and believe that they will do the right thing. The problem this day and age is there is no trust on Earth.
