Before I stopped playing for about a month, there was virtually no lag at all. Since I have gotten back on the lag has gotten so bad it seems. I am wondering how many people are witnessing it, if you are please comment below. Also I think I have one source of the problem, many people have been wanting auto stone gens and auto cobble gens. Well at first people made them small, now they are massive! I believe that the lag is coming from the constant cobble/stone coming out of the gens and from the large amount of redstone that comes on and off with the redstone repeater. So if you are witnessing this lag also and have never experienced so much before please comment below. If Crew or Cyp could somewhat look at this and figure the other causes that would be great because the lag is causing glitches where you can't type /home when you are falling off the side of an island and then you loose all your stuff

Not quite sure, but all I know is that it slows you down and makes you glitch.

I know what the main issue might be... which is the 1.7.X clients. They got a lot of a revamp (+23K lines of code changes), so making them run better lowered your FPS.

Are you experiencing lag everywhere or just at your island / certain places?

My island is fine, though when I go somewhere else it gets worse. Like at spawn I was glitched walking so I was just controlling it where I moved by my mouse. Then it gets even worse with a lot of people in the area or if there is a auto gen of some sort nearby.

Anytime I'm not using my stone gens, i always disable them so they don't cause lag. If everyone practiced this it might help out a little bit. But spawn is often laggy just because there's usually SO many people there. I haven't seen much of a lag increase though, but I'll pay a bit more attention now to see if I've been affected.

I feel that part of the problem is the massive amount of Drop Parties there and the dropping of a large amount of items has been known to create lag. Back around Christmas time a friend of mine died with an inventory full of stacks of rockets. It created so much lag that it was unbelievable.

Yea entities on the ground can cause lag. That's why they use CLAG. I think with the drop parties it's probably more of the amount of people attending, rather than the items being dropped, but I'm no expert :)

Either way, I'll agree that spawn has been a bit laggy lately, whatever the cause.

I'm assuming we can say that spawn lag is caused by multiple things

Yes, but what I'm more worried about is where the other lag at other places is coming from.
