I'm sure some people will be upset by this, but I feel it needs to happen. I've been looking through some archived appeals and basically all I see is this:

Mod: "Ok so you completely and utterly destroyed someone's island they spent over a year building, you basically gave the victim a heart attack, you made the victim spam my chat begging me to help them fix their island and get their stuff back, you wasted 2 hours of mine and the victim's lives figuring out that you were the griefer and repairing the island, and now you think I'm just going to unban you?"

    Rule breaker: "im sry"

Mod: "Ok you seem sorry, I will unban you when I get the chance."

I think you see the problem here. I simply think that mods just need to stop letting people off the hook just because they say they're sorry, especially when people break more offensive rules.

I want all of your opinions on this. Please comment below with your thoughts :)

It is very easy to lie and sound sincere in your appeal, and get unbanned. I think that in some cases there should not be the option of being unbanned, such as being banned 3+ times (Or in the extreme number of Batsleeper :p).

I've seen some when I FEEL they are let off too easy, but other times I agree entirely with the amount of effort they have to put in to the appeal to be unbanned. It just has to do with which mod it was. There will always be different opinions.

No one can read emotions through text, we honestly don't know if they were sincere or not, but I'll go by your method, next person I see to break the rules even the slightest is going to be permed.
Also this is in the wrong section, banned.

But seriously, a second chance is always a good idea, if they do it again we'll just re-ban them again, not hard to do. :)

I've been banned more than 10 times. It's very easy to get off the hook. Only a few mods are good with their appeals.

This is what I've been trying to say. Honestly, the only mod I've really seen that's good with ALL of their appeals is Dirty, but he's not even a mod anymore ._.

Yeah, Dirty is great at what he does. From what I know, he only quit MV and he somehow was demoted on SB as well.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make this sound rude, it's just my honest opinion.

I've seen a person have PAGES of his appeal,
about swearing, being rude, spam, bump,
and at the end, he gave an: Ok, I'm sorry for all I have said in this appeal, I will give the player his items back and will never do it again. I love the skyblock community from now on, and see what I did bad.

He got TEMPBANNED for 30 more days then unbanned. Everyone was like: WTF!!!! (There were lots of posts on the guys profile of the chances of him getting unbanned VERY low.

So, I really agree with your post and your examples in there. Support this 10000%.

P.S It was a Tmod, cannot remember name. (net)

If its their first offence, its quite likely (unless very serious or the player is being ridiculous or not admitting) that they will be unbanned.
We can not tell if someone is sincere or not, but if they really are then we can't really say 'your just lying'. If they get let off, with every ban their chances get lower. I think the appeals (with a few exceptions) are going fine.

out of the appeals ive done only 1 person that i got unbanned was rebanned. So im glad i gave them that chance. You want us to be more strict? You want us to not let someone back into the server? after a certain point in time they will learn their lesson. majority of rule breakers are kids. Look at what happened when most people got unbanned. A lot were perm banned and have been good since their return. So we answer ban appeals as we see fit. Its easy to talk when you not the one writing in the appeals, trying to see whos genuine and whos not, while keeping in mind whats best for the server, while giving everyone a fair chance. We are mainly banning new offenders, not old ones so what ever we are doing is working. we are fair, we do our jobs, we write appeals and handle them in a professional manner, which allows for second chances and fairness.

I disagree with this. I've looked at a few appeals (actually a lot) and most of them are either in progress and the mod is telling the person to do something or to explain. And not many pass.
