First of all I would like to say, thank you for even opening my mod app. Please read through it as much as you would like and leave feedback on what I can do better, and your personal thoughts about my overall capabilities of being a moderator A little about me: My name in real life is Jake, but you might know me online as JKC. I am currently a freshman in high school and 15 years old. Some of my passions include skiing, basketball, working with electronics, and video games. I have been playing Minecraft since the alpha stages, and to this day I love it. I have a lot of experience with this game, and that's why I have decided to make a moderator app. Your in-game name: JKC10000 How old are you? I am 15 years old. I may be young, but I can prove my abilities otherwise Which timezone are you in? Mountain Daylight/Standard Time Which languages do you speak? I have spoken English all my life, and my knowledge of Spanish is increasing, but most likely never going to be useful Have you ever been banned? (if yes, why?) Never, and I'm not planning on it anytime soon. I like to stick to the rules, and enforce them where possible. Why do you think you should be a mod? Being a moderator would extend my abilities to help other players. While I am just a normal player, there is a very limited list of things that I can do to assist others. When someone has a question about a rule, I try and answer it, and if they still are wondering about it I try to explain to them why it is a rule. I want to help all players know what is right from wrong, so they don't end up getting banned for something they didn't know was an offence. If someone needs to know a certain command, I like to help them by messaging them how to use the command they are looking for. With the moderator position, I would be able and willing to... Stop Spam We all know spam is annoying. People are always saying stuff like "LOOK--->{}{}{}SELLING 43 BONEMEAL FOR 2 MELON MSG ME {}{}{} <--- LOOK!" and "JOIN my.ip.is.gey GIVING FREE ADMIN AND DIAMONDS JOIN!!!!!!!!!" and it gets really annoying. Moderators have the ability to use /mute, which in return I would be able to mute those annoying spammers/advertisers and allow the chat to be in more of a clean, non-spammy state. Log Griefs Since there is no island protection on .NET (not saying that's a bad thing) people have the ability to make bridges to neighboring islands and dump their lava on it. It happens all the time. Which is why Skyblock has the plugin LogBlock installed. I personally have experience with this plugin, as I used to log griefs myself on another server way back when. If someone was griefed, they could /message me and I would be able to visit their island, check out who griefed them, and ban the offender. Watch the Chat Apart from the spam, there are always players who decide they are cool now and say something like f.u.ck. Or there is the occasional new player that says in chat they are selling their dirt. As a mod, I would be watching the chat for these things, and I would be able to take action. If someone swore, I would kick them with a warning, and if they kept on doing it I would point them to the ban command. If someone new decided to sell their buckets, I would be able to message them stating that what they are trying to do is against the rules and they would be banned if caught doing it. There is more to do, not listed above. If new responsibilities came upon me, I would fulfill them What qualifications do you have? • Communication: Communication is an essential part of doing anything in this world, and especially being a moderator. You have to communicate to get ideas across from one person to another. I communicate with people to tell them several things, such as where are certain warp is, how to get to spawn, how to make mobs spawn on your island, etc. My communication skills combined with the moderator position would be a good connection. • Helpful: Another thing I am good at is being helpful. I like to show people how to do things correctly, and efficiently. Being a moderator would allow me to assist people with dealing with griefs, refunding their items, breaking old lockettes, etc. • Trustworthy: With the mod position, there is a lot you could abuse with. You could go around banning people. You could teleport to players into the void, causing them to lose their items. You could mute players for no reason, causing them not to be able to chat. The list goes on. I am a trustworthy person, and by allowing me to moderate I would be able to prove this. • Friendly: I have met several people in life. Some of them were friendly, some of them were not. The ones who were not friendly, I was not friendly back. Simple as that. You treat others how you want them to treat you. I am not known to make enemies, nor to be rude to others. I try to think positive, and not to bring others down. I try to be as friendly as possible to others. Of course there are exceptions, seeing as we all get mad at times. But for the most part I am a very friendly kind of person • Experience: I have been a part of this community for about a year and a half now. It has been a fun journey, and I hope it will continue for as long as possible. I have learned so much to do with this community, its great. One quality I have is my own experience. Whether it be what items are illegal to trade or where the list of rules are, I have a large knowledge of how to get around this community. • Team Work: Teamwork is like a brick building. Together, all the bricks, or team members, make up one big building. But, if one of the bricks are removed, some other bricks, in one way or another, are affected. Being a mod would put me both on the team of staff as well as the team of Skyblock players. Together we could work as a team and make this community a fun place for people to spend their time. How long can you be active on the server every day? Monday through Friday: Around 6PM - 9PM MST, depending on when I have practice Saturday through Sunday: I can be on about any time of the day I would be able to sacrifice my own time if needed to come on and moderate Do you have any past experience as a moderator? I do. A friend of mine used to run his own Factions server with about 30-50 players on at a time. I was moderator, and my roll was similar to that of Skyblock's. I would monitor the chat, ban advertisers, mute annoying swearers, etc. The server got only a few donations over a few months, and then fell in the dirt due to no way of paying for it. I learned quite a bit from that time, and I feel like what I have learned could be applied to being a good mod on Skyblock Thank you for taking the time to read my application. Like I mentioned above please leave any feedback you have for me down below. I hope you consider me to be a moderator. -JKC
